Feel free to digg my story: http://digg.com/linux_unix/Ubuntu_9_04_Jau...cially_released biggrin.gif

Only the torrents seem to be live: http://releases.ubuntu.com/9.04/

The torrent is quite fast.
Even if Ubuntu is not among my favourite distros, I download every release, in case they can make me change my mind.

BTW: Kubuntu is out as well.

Currently running Ubuntu 9.04. I love it. It's the only distro I've used that "just works".

And I can confirm that the DVD version does not offer anything more than a normal CD version would. Just a slower install. I was always curious about the difference lol tongue.gif

Btw, I hate OpenSolaris 2008.11. Thought I'd try it. Regretted it after 10 minutes of using it :/

You're running the very first alpha of an OS with absolutely no new features yet?

9.10 isn't even out yet.

9.04 = 2009/04 (April). 9.10 = 2009/10 (October). They've always followed that naming scheme, the numbers match the year and month in which they were released.

System, Preferences, Remote desktop.. just like OS X, Ubuntu has a VNC server and client built in.

Yes, I tried that, but it never works, I can tell it to share its screen, but it can't be seen by any windows, mac or linux machines...

EDIT: Maybe I should check which port it uses again...
