I'm currently rebuilding VLC so that it will support 4 architectures...
These will be:
- 32 bit Intel (i386)
- 64 bit Intel (x86_64)
- 32 bit PPC (PPC)
- 64 bit PPC (PPC64)
The reason for this is that many people will be using this great player and I would like to see it fully Snow Leopard ready...
I'll keep you guys posted after I released it...

There is no skin support in the OSX version only Linux and Windows

VLC works 10x's better than quicktime on my aspire one in most cases! I hope that 64-bit would make it run even more smooth.

I don't think so...you have to optimize the codecs to do so, not the vlc code...e.g. for multi core processing etc...

Just tried VLC 64bit version on my leopard hackintosh. Other than showing (64 bit) in the Activity Monitor, i don't feel the difference:P. Cool nonetheless.
