Just a quick thanks note for the developers who invested time and skills in implementing this kext.
I would like to mention, that applying the speedstep on my HP 8510w, it regulated the laptop fan which was flying even when the CPU usage was 1%, so not only it saves energy and battery but it saves you headache smile.gif , now I am typing and my laptop is dead quiet thumbsup_anim.gif

So yeah, if you looking for a way to control your fan, go with this solution.

and I also noticed this
IntelEnhancedSpeedStep: INFO Initializing version 1.4.5 © Prashant Vaibhav <mercurysquad@yahoo.com>
IntelEnhancedSpeedStep: WARN ** Spurious P-State 0: 2201 MHz at 1452 mV, consuming 35 W, latency 10 usec
IntelEnhancedSpeedStep: INFO Using 4 PStates.

which means prior to installing the speedstep, the OS was clocking the CPU to the max, hence why the fan was going crazy on me, with speedstep, it is on auto set, 800 right now

Thanks
