Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I hope you dont mind me asking a question or two as my first post.
I recently decided to open up the hood on my wife's 1st gen intel imac and tinker around. I upgraded the HDD and tried upgrading the processor to a santa rosa (yeah, i did not do careful enough research).
After i realized the Santa Rosa was not compatible, I popped the old Core duo back in. Well, I got everything back together ok, but now. I get the black screen upon reboot. I tried resetting the PRAM to see if the grey screen would show. Nothing. I only get the chimes. Does anyone have any advice on what I should try next? I am fairly certain that all of the connections to the lcd is connected good and I would hate to disassemble the thing again (it would be the 4th time). Is there anything else I should try? thanks in advance!
PS: also seems like the internal fans are ALOT louder than they were before. I am really stumped on this one.
