Hi,

I installed Parallels Desktop 4 (the most up to date version) and when I'm trying to boot into my new Virtual Machine I got this message:

As you can see I'm using Voodoo kernel. It is 10.5.6 version.
My CPU is Q6600 and motherboard is ASUS P5Q...

Is there a possibility to get Parallels Desktop 4 working fine?

Same trouble here. VMware Fusion 2.01 and Parallels 4 both keep crashing constantly during installation of Win XP.
My CPU is a Q6600, Mobo Asus Striker Extreme with NForce-Chipset (4GB RAM), NVidia Quadro FX 4600.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

Hi lzieba,

It has something to do with the amount of memory OS X sees/uses (limited 32bit addressing, please see several older posts on that topic), try to reduce the used memory via the maxmem flag (e.g. maxmem=3325).

That trick did it for me!

It didn't worked for me, but I changed kernel name from the mach_kernel.voodoo to mach_kernel using Terminal, and after booting with "mach_kernel" both: Parralels and Vmware worked for me!

I get exactly the same kernel panic (when launching Parallels) as on your screen shot. I have a mach_kernel.voodoo in the root directory. How do you change the name in terminal? I just tried changing the name in finder by backspacing trough the voodoo part. I wouldn't let me do it and said there's already a file named mach_kernel. So I guess doing it in terminal is the way to go...I just don't know how. Also, where did learn that this is the fix for this exact problem? Thanks for your help.
