Full Version: Trouble with installing ubuntu

i am using window xp pro version 2002 service pack 3, with 2gb of ram.i have the cd for ubuntu 8.10 installing the ubuntu without no trouble only trouble i ran to after i booted up i came to the last part when a small window game up and it said checking for installement then freezed up from there,nothing happen i asked some friends they told me It could also be ur bios settings.it has something to do with my sli can anyone help me where can do all these.Thanks in advance.

best way to run ubuntu on windows for new users is http://wubi-installer.org/ it install a virtual disk and boots to that at startup if you choice to.
