hi all,

How do you create the favico.ico file needed for Favicons in Photoshop?

Thanks
StrongWind
I think you need to make 16x16 or 32x32 pixels file (I am not sure what size, 32x32 or 16x16, try both wink.gif ). After that you need to find *.ico export plugin for photoshop, you can google for it and find it very easy smile.gif

Yes :

- from 16*16 to 255*74 file, BUT you should use a instead of .ico (Windows proprietary file) a more "universal" file, like PNG, GIF, MNG...

Only very old browsers won't get it correctly (not even sure of this).

1.Save it as png
2.Go to www.converticon.com
3.Convert your png to ico and name it favicon.ico

Done.

A good freeware program for editing icons is IcoFX. The program is for Windows, so you will have to turn to an OS virtualizer if you are running it on a Mac.
