So at first this was just a minor nuisance, but now, It's a full blown headache. I'm running the system below and I updated to 10.5.6 via software update, I'm running with the Aquamac 9000 series drivers (used his installer) and NVDarwin 1.2.4.

I can't be sure if this is an issue with my new monitor or my machine (I think it's the machine).

If I attempt to change resolutions the computer displays a pure blue screen with nothing (no pointer), then I have to force restart the machine to get it to give me a screen again, when it restarts, the screen runs the new resolution.

How can I hunt this issue down?

What should I be looking at for a fix?

Looks like you have misconfigured NVCAP (use search). First of all try to use another DVI head to connect your monitor.

I changed the string from 04000000 00000300 0c000000 (dual DVI) to 04000000 00000700 38000000 (Dual DVI plus TV out on channels 1 and 2) as per this link:

Now the monitor changes resolution fine, but the it only works if plugged into the DVI port closest to the motherboard (it had been working on either, I had tried both outputs to see if that fixed the issue before)... I guess I'll have to check to see if dual DVI still works when I have my other monitor around.

It seems that the new kexts from 10.5.6 update already have support for 9600GT.
You don't need to install Aquamac's kexts.
You should only put device id of your card on info.plist (NVDANV50Hal.kext) and put the EFI string on com.apple.boot.plist. Doesn't need NvDarwin either.

Thanks for the heads up, this worked brilliantly for me. IU didn't need to edit info.plist, just added the EFI string.

going to purchase this card today, with fingers crossed. i'm running iAtkos updated to 10.5.6 (or is it .7? can't remember, on a different machine now). at any rate (and at the risk of sounding like a noob despite the fact that i've edited plists and hex and swum through terminal to finally get the thing airborne), just wanted to ask for clarification of what's meant by the EFI string. is that the dev/vendor id string? cheers
