Hi,

I am in a rather unfortunate position where my Macbook will run OSX 10.4.7 fine, but as soon as I try and upgrade to anything later, I get a kernel panic on boot. The local Mac store tells me it has a faulty logic board and quoted more than a new Macbook to replace.

I am really keen to get iTunes 8 working on it. (Needs 10.4.9). I was thinking it may be possible to upgrade to 10.4.9 but use the 10.4.7 Kernel (which runs perfectly).

Does anyone know how I would go about replacing the Kernel and whether this is possible?
I know this isn't OSX86 related, but you people seem to know alot about hacking kernels smile.gif.

Thanks
