help me!!!
OCM770
Ok, i have the same problem and im pissed at nobody answering a thread...

I did some research and took a look at the mini PCIe wireless card in my Notebook and it says "Atheros AR5B91" on it, i turned it around and took a look at the actual IC, which read Atheros AR9281.

Upon further research the 9281 is a single Band B/G/N chip. Here are some links:

http://www.atheros.com/news/AR9280_AR9281.htm

http://www.atheros.com/pt/bulletins/AR9281Bulletin.pdf

Now here comes the EXCITING part! Take a look at the second link and you'll see it says "Driver support for Windows XP, Vista, Mac
and Linux operating systems" I hope this is true but i havent found any driver for mac, i'll keep researching though smile.gif

Bumped again - I just bought an Acer 4730Z laptop with this mini pci-e adapter; a kext for it (and getting the Intel 4500M video working properly) would make me one happy camper!

Sorry for the confusion. We are under legal agreement with Apple not to provide the requested drivers to anyone. For issues regarding driver support or customer service related to your wireless card, please contact Apple. We suggest you refer to the Apple's website, as they typically offer online technical support pages where software drivers, updates, and other related information can be obtained.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for fast response, but I couldn't find drivers for OS X (and
drivers for 9281 at all) on that page.

No, the Orangeware driver does not work with Intel machines or 10.5. This is from their FAQ:

Is your Wireless Driver supported under Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)?
We do not support Mac OS X 10.5 and are not planning an upgrade.

i think it works on snow leopard.

can anyone confirm this?

teknokracy
yes, in this thread they discuss how it did not work in the Acer 4710TZ but now works with SL. Drivers do exist for mac for the base chip of this card (named something else) but were never included with Leopard

Yes!! I have that same wifi card and it does work in Snow Leopard as a native Airport... I wanna downgrad my system to leopard and im trying to find that same driver to make it work as airport but i don't know where I should look for it in SL... If someone have any ideia i could install snow leopard on my system and provide you guys with any info or kexts you want... wink.gif
