Which string did you edit/delete in the info.plist within the PrefPane? What value did you change VendorID to (if it was changed)?
just remove those two parts using terminal
<key>VendorID</key>
<strig>code</string>
how to do it?
open terminal
sudo su
enter password
nano /System/Library/PreferencePanes/Trackpad.prefPane/Contents/Info.plist
use only arrow keys to scroll down to above key and string area
and delete them both... using del key
after that
ctrl+O (letter O and not number 0)
enter
ctrl+X
reboot
...
MR_CP can you provide me information regarding which iso (file name) did you use to upgrade and etc.. also can you provide me the install log on the error, because install log provides the information? because i may have forgotten something inside the dvd upgrade process which causes the error (i think i know

but need to check it) sorry if it caused problem

hi guys,
merry christmas to all,
well I've read the thread for a while back however, i have a few questions.
like-
1) does anybody elses samsung nc10 create a 71gb xp partition because in the guide of Myst.. his is only 70gb?
if so is there a way i can safely repartition my hd to only 70gb and "chop off" that 1 gig?
on the partition topic.
second question is whether anyone has a premium rapidshare account i could borrow to download the 10.5.6 ppf for my jas 10.5.4 or could anyone send/host their 10.5.6 ppf somewhere free please.

@Mysticus C*
I did exactly what you said but donīt see trackpad in System pref.
Macbe you could upload your Trackpad.prefPane.
I have installed 10.5.6.
Do you have any idea about the monitor problem? (Post on page before)
// Trackpad in Sys Pref works now after 2 reboots thanks.
But is it possible to get Trackpad scrolling working??

Delete that line. The "code" is a generic way for Mysticus to ID the following line. However, I am not able to get this to work on my US NC10. I'd love to be able to tweak the sensitivity of the on-board pad for those times I do not have a mouse.

Hi all,
and thx very much Mr. Mysticus for all your work and dedication towards this project! I recently got the nc10 and am currently running 10.5.4 from the msi....iso (only osx on only one osx partition, no windows). Everything works fine except the usb ports (devices will only mount if they were present during boot up). Also I think, with this solution I won't be able to update to 10.5.5 or 10.5.6...
So.. my question is if it is ok to do the following:
recover the jas10.5.6 iso (which I just finished downloading) to a usb-stick,
use osx86tools to make the stick bootable (Add EFI Strings/Boot Flag),
install from jas iso to only one osx-partition (without doing all the formatting to get n drives because I won't be running windows on the thing and also, I'm not running windows at the time so doing the formatting stuff might get kind of tricky)
I will stick to your guide except for the parts mentioned above (usb-install, one partition)
also.. could (will) there be problems because I've been using the msiwind-iso the first time? (I simply didn't know about this postings so I tried the first thing that came to my hands... and as I said, everything is running fine except the usb ports)
I know that's quite a bit to ask but maybe you're able to look into it. And maybe (hoping) it'll work just fine this way =)
Cheers,

Delete the lines:

save and do 1 oder two reboots.

I did those steps exactly and do not get the Trackpad PrefPane. When I try to force launch it from the System/Library/PreferencePanes directory I get a message in Sys Prefs telling me that I need to attach a device to make the option available to me (my wording, not OSX's). I'm more than a little puzzled. Can you send me your PrefPane so I can test it?

hey iXXn, I have a solution for you. I'm also running msiwindosx86 on my nc10 but I found a fix on this forum for USB ports.
Download usb_fix 1.3 by LioNEXT
http://rapidshare.com/files/115617132/usb_fix_1.3.mpkg.zipRun usb_fix_1.3.mpkg file
Select CUSTOMIZE button
Select TOH Sleep 9.2 kernel + system.kext
Reboot. your USB ports should be recognized.
@Mysticus
Is it okay to use your NC10_10.5.6_Install_Package on msiwindosx86 distro? I don't want to redownload your distro since msiwindosx work otb for me (usb_fix + wifi is dell 1490, and I dont need headphone for now).
What are some consequences if I do an 10.5.6 update?
Wouldn't it be a good idea to make your next ppf based on msiwindosx? (not sure what windosx based on)
I have tried iAtkos, kaylaway, Jas. They all come with a long list of things to choose on setup. One mis tick will cost several more hours to get to the right setting. So far, msiwindosx simplified the installation process to bare minimum. Boot, create partition, default setting, install.

Mysticus. I had a question lots of apple apps have window sizes that go beyond the boundaries of our desktop. for instance when picking spaces preferences, or in iwork certain buttons cant be reached when selecting a template. Anything that can be done bout that you think, or do I have to muddle through it best I can. Probably the later cause it must be built into the OS
iXXn
Dec 25 2008, 08:18 PM
@nam265:
I did exactly what you said, but now osx won't boot anymore, I get stuck at the startup volume selection screen, it still says "hd(0,1) OSX" but hitting enter won't do a thing. Also typing -v does nothing, just makes the screen flash for a split-second??
which brings me back to my main question...
@Mysticus C*:
will I be able to install the jas-iso (the 10.5.6 torrent on BIKE TOWN) from a usb stick (made bootable with osx86tools)
onto one osx-journaled formatted partition?
I read something about 123boot wich comes with the msi-distro and I'm not quite sure if using the jas-distro would eliminate this 123boot-thing?!
Any help would be greatly apreciated!
Cheers,

Dec 25 2008, 08:35 PM
iXXn: you can do it as well, but i suggest you to do ddmac method, it is easier and faster... however it is definitely possible to do it from usb as well...
boot-132 method is safer for updates but since you have certain disabler drivers and decrypt drivers updates should not be a problem either, but going the boot-132 way will put more trouble on my shoulders to support both non efi folder users and efi folder users and nc10 and non nc10 etc... also considering many noobs around, i will need to deal additional installers... so if you want it that way, you are on your own, you will probably learn a lot along the way as well... so choice is up to you...
adam: problem is within apple's window resizing way... there is a temp fake resolution solution... from terminal... i dont remember it now, but i ll check again... know that terminal method has some downsides, with program behaviors... funny menus/text etc..

lol

dont worry, just skip the formating from windows
when you do usb boot process... after you boot into installer,
go to disk-utility, choose your hdd and go to partition menu
Volume Scheme: 3 partitions or whatever you like
if chosen 3, do 50-50-rest (just make partitioning to your needs)
name them as
OSX1 - OSX2 - Data
Main - Time-machine/Backup - downloads etc
Journaled - Journaled - Journaled
option: MBR
and apply.... you are ready to proceed to installation...
cheers...

Ok Mysticus, just running thru basic operations (wish I can submit you bug reports some other way) When pairing my phone with bluetooth it craps out... i get thru the password part then its at mobile phone setup select services you want to use with mobile phone and the bluetooth icon is off suggesting its no longer on, when going to bluetooth prefs I cant turn it back on, requires a restart.
So I restarted thinking the phone was registered the bluetooth needs to be reset as it were. well with paired item bluetooth refuses to start up....very strange.
Ok narrowed it down...it was the bluetooth assitant that was the culprit...maybe it was looking for something apple harware ish...but just doing the normal browse add works fine to commect to my other computers and phone...

hey nam265,
nothing to be sorry about

I just finished the jas-mysticus install.. everything works fine now
I think, if you're just using OSX on your nc10 this is probably a very fast way to get it up and running..
convert jas-iso to jas-dmg with toast
recover dmg to usb-stick in disk utility
make the stick bootable with osx86tools ("Install EFI/Run FDISK" then option 4 for chameleon efi)
boot the stick & install
of course you won't have the benefits from dd-bootloader and maybe you'll run into more problems later, when updating the os itself, (like 10.5.6 to 10.5.7) but i think updates to applications should work just fine

carlito: make the extended partition, do not delete the number comes up first time, just make the full size (what ever comes up as number there) for it,
in the next slides, you will create the logical ones... there, you will define one 35000 for the timemachine/backup and one what ever left again for the ddmac (it will be about ~4700 left so no worries)

Just following an earlier post to say thanks Mysticus. Tried adding upgrade to original ISO and couldn't get it to work, but downloaded the combined ISO you released yesterday and Wow. Installed easily. This machine is amazing for OSX, easily beating my old 12" powerbook
I have a problem with the trackpad update package... an icon has appeared in the preferences pane, but it isn't the correct one (it's the system settings 'cogs' icon) and when clicked it reads:

hey iXXn, i used that method too to put msiwindosx on my nc10. Is it necessary to convert the iso to dmg? what i did was I just restore the msiwindosx86.iso directly to usb then use osx86 tools to make it bootable, all work fine.
Does nc10 dvd let you update through apple directly?

Then I reinserted the two lines of code, to return everything back to previous state, before installing your installer.
Any ideas?
Also, I've noticed - and tested a few times - that with an SD inserted, the NC10 will enter but won't return from sleep state. Is this a known issue?
