First of all, let me introduce that I use Maya 2009 and Cinema 4D R11 mainly.
I had an iMac running 64-bit Leopard 10.5. Important Specs were 4GB RAM, 2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo, and 128MB ATI RadeonHD 2400 video card.
Now, I am wondering how Cinema 4D R11's or Maya's performance will go on a new system that I just ordered but hasn't arrived yet. Remember that Cinema 4D R11 is 64bit for mac and can access more than 3.5 gigs of RAM. Here are the specs for the new system.
- 3.0 Ghz Core 2 Quad
- 8GB RAM
- 512MB 8800GT Geforce video card
How will rendering and then interaction (modeling big scenes) go?
