Has anyone been able to get this to work properly? I have an Acer 5735-4624. Everything is working well otherwise.

Hello... I know that the last threat about this theme is long time a go, and it`s was not very hopeful, so i have solve the problem of the resolution in my laptop and perhaps could help to some one else.

First there`s a few things that are not working yet.. the most important its the Quarz Extreme...
But i have the real resolution of my card with all the posible modes that my Graphic card support.

My laptop it`s a Acer aspire 5738z With iAtkos v7 10.5.7, boot loader Chameleon RC 2.0, vista home premium.. and have the same problem with the Intel GMA 4500M ... I try all the ways to get up the resolution of the screen:

MAYBE SOME OF THIS OPTIONS COULD WORK TO SOMEONE ELSE... THEY DOES NOT WORK TO ME

... THE ONLY WAY TO GET BACK TO MY SYSTEM AGAIN WAS USE THE "-V" OPTION IN THE BOOT SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL THE SYSTEM RESPONSE AND LEAVE THE NATIVE 1024X768 RESOLUTION.

-Install the drivers from the iAtkos installer.

The boot crash ...apper the black screen tell me that i have to reboot my machine or... just keep stuck the white screen with the apple...

-edit directly the file of Boot with nano:

sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.Apple.Boot.plist

and add the strings

<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1280x768x32</string>

Not work...only if i use 1024x768 without x32... if not the same problem...

-Add the command line in the boot of Darwin:

"Graphics Mode"="1280x768x32"

The same problem....

-Add the same command line in the Boot file but like a parameter of the kernel flags:

<string>"Graphics Mode"="1280x768x32"</string>

The same...

there`s an atacch file by Jasim from Tienneke's ... that it`s a GMAX3100.kext modify inside a zip call GMAX4500.zip


so... this is what i did:

1.-download the OSX86Tools:

2.-download the attach file by jasim:

it`s one of the last threat of that page...

3.- Use OSX86Tools to active the QuartzGL, and install the kext file that comes in the zip file (the attach file of jasim)

4.- use nano to edit the boot file to solve the problems of the boot crash:

sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.Apple.Boot.plist

and add the strings

<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1024x768</string>

without "x32" and no other than that mode (1024x768).


5.- Reboot the system.

if every thing goes well you are gonna boot in VESA mode 1024x768 and your system it`s gonna star with the resolution of 1366x768 . If you use the system profile utility it has to look something like this:

there`s a lot of issues...Quartz Extreme is not working yet ... and i know that my card it`s intel GMA 4500M but it`s working... so i hope this could help to some else...
