I have an i7 860 studio 8000, the bios looks proper pony compared to p55 boards (the xps having a p55 express), even other dell models. Might have to wait for a custom bios or at least find some sort of white paper to figure out what is enabled on it (AHCI etc.) before you can install from the retail DVD.
We might even need to patch the dsdt. I'm pretty new to this though, so some more qualified opinion-ationalism is gratefully received
On tonymacx86's web site, it says the i5 750/ i7 processors and the p55 are native in Snow leopard, is the p55e that far off?
I'm getting a kernel panic trying to get to the install screen : seems to be com.apple.driver.ACPIPlatform - DSDT problem?
J
EDIT: Seems like the Gigabyte Mobo that works for tony is p55 express anyway, which doesn't need EFI/DSDT changes? might be the GFX for some people (Think GTS 240 might need patching).
Any ideas?

http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2009/12/ins...ectly-from.htmlThis page might help you install snow leopard. Try using the safe mode switch as directed for your GFX card
LAST EDIT:
Tried tony's nv2xx bootloader iso and got past most problems but that damn root device problem!
