Apple finally (after six months) released a Java update which includes the fix to this security issue.

You can either download the update, which can be get for OS X 10.5.x from here or here for OS X 10.4.x or simply fire up Software Update...

I applied this and now I need to go in safe mode to even boot in my pc. It keeps rebooting on normal boot.

Don't know if the update did this or not.

I never quite understood why it takes forever for Mac users to get a Java update after Windows/Linux/everyone else in the world.

One of those strange little quirks, that can turn into an very evil quirk.
