A new security update just popped up in my software update.
Installed using software update, and all went smoothly. No problems so far. Specs below - 100% stock system.

Is it safe for hackintosh users? Does this update include new kexts?

Yeah, it's safe for hackintosh users. I already update and not issues in here. Working like a charm

worked out properly. things are in my sig, HP 6000 laptop nvidia 7400gs on nvdarwin.

Confirmed no problems on my Vanilla retail install.

The only non-apple kexts I am using are dsmos, IntelCPUPMDisabler, SMBIOSResolver, plus kexts for video and audio.

I am not "claiming" anything, but you seem right.
This is however very interesting, because I searched and it didn't return anything. Neither did anything show up in the forum list, otherwise I would not have add mine. I apparently missed it (having a hard time believing it) but I'm still at a lost why my post time changed (that is seriously not funny).

Okay, so I logged out and checked the post times, which are Today 09:50AM (mine) versus Today 12:19AM (his) making me the first one, but whatever, back to "Hacking the Apple TV" :-)

Working fine on my retail install. Ditto the Java update.

Didn't cause any trouble on P5Q-E/Pentium 4 iPC 10.5.6 hackintosh with 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel.

hmm, after applying this update, my system can no longer boot up with vanilla, but only with voodoo kernel which is 9.5.0.

when i use vanilla kernel, i get stuck in the blue screen before entering the desktop , anyone have similar experience?

Hi everybody!
I'm hamving some issues with some apps. Not working after the installation of the security Update. Some examples: Transmission (any version), Entorage 2008, Photoshop CS3.
Everithing was working just fine untill reboot.
Any hint or solution will be great!

I have the same problem. Can't log in to my account, freezes at the blue screen and then pops back to the log in screen.

Haven't tried any other kernels though...

i can confirm it's this update that cause the problems,
but don't know what really the problems is ...

the update went smoothly and everything works perfect as before.

anyone tried the update on a msi wind with the retail installation type (/Extra folder) ?

Ok yeh it seems to be totally safe on AMD running voodoo 5 with osx 10.5.6 (iPC)

No prob at all.Just update and works.

I've installed the 2009-001 security update today, and everything seems to be working fine. Just to be safe, I downloaded the .dmg off of Apple's web site.
