To be honest, I actually owned the original Amiga not Mac but also have fond memories of things loading relatively quickly (seconds not minutes!) from 880k floppy disks. Even resuming from hibernation my modern desktops take quite a while to settle down. Rose-tinted spectacles I think.

Bah, my Spectrum boots even faster..but of course you can't run Logic 8 on that
Anyway my old Atari ST was about the same date, at booted faster than the original Mac (GEM in rom hehe)
