Hello!

I have this sound card..

In Windows (Vista - Everest) it is displayed as ALC 862

and in Linux it is displayed as ALC861-VD and i got the codec:



When i install this with the AppleHDA Patcher 1.20 the spdif out is detected!

But after reboot i stil have no sound. I tried every ALC861 files with the patcher and every ALC862 Installer (copied it manually to extensions dir and changed permissions).

So anybody knows what todo? I found some thread in which some ppl said the have a working card with the AppleAzalia Driver! The insert the sound card ID and motherboard ID!
But where is this motherboard ID?

Please help me! I just want some sound on my notebook...

VOLUME CONTROL ISSUE AlMOST SOLVED---

Apparently ALC862 Linux dump that I have doesn't have Amp-Out Mixer & even yours above does not have amp-out mixer. That's why there's no volume control for speakers. I can not get a dump that has this entry. I have tried 4 linux versions. If anyone here can provide a newer dump from a more recent Linux distribution, then check the dump to see if it has Amp-Out Mixer.

Apparently If we can get that amp out mixer we can have volume control for ALC862. I hope some of you who want volume control for the 861/862 read this!

now what do i do with all that? im assuming i have to change a info.plist somewhere but im not sure where? i have sound out and volume control but no headphone out. thats what im really looking for.

tried both of those and there not working. any1 get this working? i have volume control with apple azalia but cant use headphones and no input
