cool ill take a look at it later on today.

starimage I don't think this will fix your problem but give it a shot. ill look deeper into it when i can but at the moment I'm working on another project.

I just know its just the pin assignment to our mic and I think the numbers i need are hidden someplace in your original codec dump.

just know Im not going to give up. Ill have some beta drivers for you soon. but If you manage to find a solution please let me know because it contains for me some key information in unlocking the code for the chip.

Enormous thanks for help. Problem is not thus far solved

I'm looking at the code now. you say you have an internal mic. do you also have an external mic input? and if so is that working? you can plug in a set of headphones to it and try to talk into them to test it if you don't have a mic.

BronxBoy,

What's going on? I'm grateful that someone has dedicated themselves to specifically getting the ALC262 chipset running for everyone. Thanks for all your efforts to make this happen.

With that being said, I do not have a Vaio. But I do have a Lenovo 3000 Y410 laptop. On paper, it appeared to spec out just like a MacBook. However, that is apparently not the case, especially with the audio. (Again, I'll give props to Taruga for all his/her help.)

I'm only able to get speaker out using my codec dump and Taruga's HDA Patcher. I can control the volume from my my custom keyboard controls, but I have no headphone, and no mic or line in. AND, in order to get audio out of the speakers, I have to put it to sleep first. After it wakes back up a moment later, I get audio, but with a *buzz* or a steady metronome-style *pop* like you'd make with your tongue off the roof of your mouth.

Attached is my codec, which I'll call "ALC_837.txt" That's right, this one is completely different than all the rest. Apparently, I'm the only idiot without sound working with the ALC262 chipset. wink.gif So if you wouldn't mind taking a look at it with some ideas on what I'm missing, that would be appreciated.

I've tried all your codecs with the HDAPatcher. The "200" gave me the best results, but is no different than using my current codec dump, no headphones, no mic or line-in.

Thanks for any help you might give!

FYI, I installed this the 262_F00.zip version, it worked [although I already had the HD sound out on my toshiba, I was concerned with getting my headphone out working] giving me both the speakers and the headphone out, no microphone/line in although thats not too big a deal with me, since this is my secondary mac laptop [have a macbook too] but the rub is the headphones and the external speakers play at the same time.

otherwise at least its working with a line out now.
when I get back from vacation I was going to try one of my audio interfaces [MOTU 828 firewire/ and protonX25 alesis USB], since if they work, the others arn't that important. I figured you may want some feedback,

thanx good to know. Is the subsystem id on this laptop of yours F00?

I'm still on vacation, and don't have access to my windows HD to put it back in to check, but when I get home I will check it out and post an update, if theres a way to find out with OS X still installed, feel free to drop me a note.

I call it mad man because I installed 2 Mics & 2 Speakers

ALC262_837
internal speakers = yes
headphones = no
digital out = not tested
Mic = yes (I think)

Tried 0.4 MadMad Beta drivers. Audio out of speakers no longer has metronome-style "tick" or buzzing. That's progress. Still cannot hear anything out of the headphones. Still have to put laptop to sleep before any audio comes out. Is that characteristic of this laptop or something?

Here's how I installed your driver:

1) Taruga HDAPatcher 1.20 + your .TXT file representing the codec.
2) Installed your AppleHDA.kext.
3) Repaired permissions.
4) Rebooted.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Had an accident. Still recovering. Any ideas on how I can make my audio fully functioning?

Thanks!

Hey RX-7-Trainee, I have the same laptop as you and also have the same exact problems. I've been trying different codecs and havn't found any that work. My sound only works when my laptop is put to sleep; but for some reason my trackpad does not fully work afterwards. Do you have a fully functioning trackpad and keyboard?

Hello People. I have a question. How do I find my Subsystem ID. I looked in Device Manager, and could not find something with a 200, 400, 500 etc ending.

I am running Leopard, and currently My sound is comming out of both the speakrs and headphones. Has anyone been able to fix ALC262 using these patches on Leopard?

SubSystem ID :0x104d1100
With the beta kexts...i see output in preferences for line out and speakers...However NO sound!
Mic works ok....
What kexts should i use????

Thx in advance!:)

I tested it and sound was working just fine but my mic was not However the version below fixed the mic problem for me.
so you should give it a shot. but if it does not work Try Toruga's alc262testing.zip and report your findings to me.

I tried your driver and it works so far exepect the issue that the internal speakers will not be turned off if I plug in the headphone jack. So internal speakers and headphone are working at the same time. Any ideas how I can change this?

Thanks.
zikman
thx...
However with the kext you provided mic-line out works ok...
Integrated speakers dont! sad.gif
In Preferences i can see headphones....but volume output is disabled...so no sound from speakers

how are the headphones working with my alc262_100 kext?
zikman
I think headphones are meant as internal speakers...
And line out is actually external speakers (headphones)
Line out works ok but headphones(internal speakers) dont!
bronxboyXXX
I think i can fix that. ill have something for you soon but i must run now. Ill know its working when my laptop starts to work like yours is now.
for now choose headphones as the device for sound-output in system preferences and see if that works.
zikman
no it doesnt work...as default output

internal speakers= yes (but only after sleep)
headphones=
digital out=
Mic=

be sure to test everything b4 you move on to the next driver.
bronxboyXXX
give this a shot.
I think the beta 0.2 will work since I believe its doing to me what its doing to you.
try it and be sure to let me know what happens..

I need the input from you guys to make things work.
zikman
OK...For beggining
My Laptop supports only internal speakers, mic and line out.(nothing more nothing less)

i think i know whats going on.

how many outputs do you have?

I only have a headphone jack (aka) my line out.
a Mic Input (aka) a line in.
and my sound from the internal speakers (aka) internal speakers or built in speakers.
and thats it

how is your system?
do you have two line-outs?
two line-ins?
a coaxial or fiber-optic connector also known as digital line out or SPDIF?
zikman
In my previous post i explained everything in each driver

I have line out aka line out
I have headphones (probably for internal speakers???) which dont work

The system has
ONE line out
ONE line in
and internal speakers

okay..
clear..

btw each driver has been made with your linux dump

I recommend trying different taruga patchers with your dump. maybe one of them will get your internal speakers to work
if any do let me know. my only other advice is to try the madman driver i made. ill still play around with it and research but while i do that give it a shot.

the focus is to just get your internal speakers to work. i don't care about the rest. find a driver that will make them work.
zikman
Do you have some idea of what is going on my system?
bronxboyXXX
there must already be a fix for this.
zikman
madman driver doesnt work for me:(
really thx...
If i can contribute to something else just tell me...Should you ever needd something just tell me...
Thx again for everything....
However I cant understand why sound doesnt work as expected in my crappy system...

its the pins to your internal speakers.
its like this. all the realtek drivers use different pins your driver however could be a new reversion of the ALA262.
or just configured weird by your laptop manufacture. you just need to try every single realtek dump you can get your hands on.

I'm really going to look around for it because I think the fix has probably already surfaced. too many are complaining about this.

also i could have screwed up on the 2.0 beta driver.

So it still could also just be that the headphones and internal speakers are swapped. ill play with it some-more

Its very weird since in linux internal speakers work like a treat...
So i linux dump the card and using the taruga patch dont work...
Maybe there is a problem with NodeID.....
I am pretty sure about this...but i dont know how to fix it:(

Yeah...Internal speakers dont show up in preferences....
Only headphones are showing up
