Ok, before I begin, I'd just like to say I've literally spent hours and a lot of time reading this forum trying to get this thing to work.
Does ANYONE know a way to get audio working on a Asus K8V SE Deluxe with the integrated AD1980 on Mac OS v10.4.8? I also have a Chaintech AV-710 powered by a VIA HT-S chip (VT1721) if there's a way for that....
Ven and Dev ID's:
AD1980 - 1412 1724
VT1721 - 1106 3059
Currently, my AC97 kext file has 198x.kext configured with the AD1980's A720S (or whatever the single code was because I don't remember it at this time) code that goes after the VendorID key, my AMD and Intel kexts have the AD1980's ven and dev codes while the VIA kext file has the VT1721's ven and dev code.
I used KyKlop's method of removing the old kext and loading the new one then purging the cache.
Extra Info: System Profiler does not detect AppleAC97Audio.kext
Exact Problem: System Prefs -> Sound -> No Output device detected...
