I tried VoodooHDA and the taruga thing, no success.

I'd like to have sound working on my hackingtosh with Snow Leopard.

hello, try removing applehda from the system/library/extensions and then install again voodoohda. if it still don't work try to modify your dsdt (if you use one) changing all references to HDEF to AZAL
On my second laptop i have an alc268 working with snow leo and voodoohda. be sure too to get voodoohda compiled for snow, look in the voodoolabs forum and seek for vodoohda 64bit
