Has anyone gotten 5.1 sound to work on a GA-EP45-UD3R in Snow Leo? It seems I only have two outputs working in SL, the rears and the fronts and i can only select one to output sound. The sub/center output does not seem to do anything.

I'm trying to do the "Audio MIDI Setup" thing to get 5.1 but it's just not happening.

Anyone have any ideas?

Not yet. I have a hunch I have to mess with the code for the audio in my DSDT but I have no clue what the values should be changed to.

I have 5.1 audio with "Audio MIDI Setup" wink.gif , but only with VLC on 5.1 audio file/movie. iTune and iDVD don't knows to pull out 5.1 audio.

that's great! It makes me think I've got something wrong somewhere.

When I go into the MIDI tool, I don't evenget sound from any channel when I try to configure the speakers.

Can you tell me what you have for audio in your DSDT & what kexts you're using?

I followed doom's guide , and I use kexts from his pack. My DSDT file is compiled now, and I can't decompile it. Use 5.1 movie to configure the speakers.

Try to set all channel with same bit rate value (ex: 48000Hz and 2ch-16bit).

I used that guide too & used the same kexts.

Can you copy your DSDT & decompile the copy, or maybe just send my a copy of your DSDT? I'd like to compare it to mine, I think I must have a typo or something in there somewhere.

thanks

Thanks, I'll go through it and see if I missed something.

Also, are you running in 64bit or 32bit? I'm wondering if that has something to do with it as I've been using 64bit.

I'm running in 32bit.
