Hi to everyone
I have this burning question about the ALC889A sound device on my GA P35C-DS3R motherboard, I have read so many articles on how to get 5.1 suround sound using the internal header headphone connection, WHY? the device has three output sockets to acheive all six channels ie: FL/FR, SUB/CENTRE and RL/RR why can't someone modify or write a kext to utilise the existing SUB/CENTRE connector and make life simpler not complicated. I for one use my system for both MAC and XP audio applications and i find this setup completely awkward. Surely there are some very smart people out there that could figure this out? The hardware is already there, make use of it.
