i have tried iPC 10.5.6 and now on iATKOS i5 10.5.5, doesnt work with a dump provided here on this page, with the IDs changed to the correct ones.

Get a compatible PCI sound card or a USB sound card. They're cheap.

It has been made before. The funny thing is, I tried with my own dump from Knoppix, and got no errors, but no sound... But in Knoppix it said I got ALC889.. Anyone know why?

Got it, at last! http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=140941 for everyone with a ALC885 "acting" like it is an ALC889A. If none care, I have it here for my own archive, so I can get sound next time i format
