I have a Realtek High Definition Audio 82801G (ICH7 Family). Usually, there are drivers for ALC* ... Do I have a ALC as well? Where would I find a driver?

At a (google) glance it looks like it is indeed an ALC codec, maybe ALC262 or ALC880. The best way to be sure is to do a codec dump from linux.

I also have a Realtek High Definition Audio 82801G (ICH7 Family)
but mine is a alc260 so tonight i'm going to try and dump from within a linux boot cd-rom.
recommend you do the same
