Hi everyone,

I've been searching relentlessly and can't seem to find a solid answer and was hoping someone could respond and say - "hey, buy this mobo and you'll get what you want because I've tested it personally for your problem" smile.gif

Basically, I want a motherboard that'll give me 100% working optical output (spdif) 5.1 or higher to my receiver. It's gotta work 100% in all applications -- ie, if i'm playing a movie that has 5.1 it'll just work automagically and if I'm playing itunes it'll just spit out normal stereo sound, etc.

I'm trying to build a HTPC and will be using xbmc or boxee. I'm currently using my macbook and want to use a 'normal' rig now.

If you have personally verified the optical 5.1 output with your motherboard, I would appreciate your feedback, thanks!!! smile.gif

Choose anyonw you want, you cna have Optical SPDIF with M-Audio USB Transit, it has Mac OS X drivers.

Even that my motherboard has Opical SPDIF I have 5.1 (or DD) with some kexts, some doesn't work, they just do steareo out on the optical output.
