Thank's for the reply. Will try this as soon as I can. Hope it works, i'm a total addicted to iTunes and music.
This thing is... Mac world is totally new to me, so a little help will, euh, help biggrin.gif. I know how to install a kext file but where can i get the "MaximumBootBeep", "MuteGPIO" and "SignalProcessing" options?
thank's again.

Well I can not give more details than Rimini gave in his original thread :

QUOTE
1. Make a copy of your AppleHDA.kext to your desktop or a folder. It's in /System/Library/Extensions/
2. Right click on it and select "Show Package Contents". This will open a new finder window.
3. Navigate to "Contents/Plugins/" and right click on "AppleHDAPlatformDriver.kext" and select "Show Package Contents" again, opening yet another finder window (a kext within a kext).
4. In this one, right click "Contents/Info.plist" and open it, or right click and select "Open With/Property List Editor".
5. Now you navigate down the tree (keep clicking each subsequent direction triangle) until you reach "PathMapRef" and then open "0" and you'll see all the various inputs and outputs enumerated here.

At this point you might want to look around at the various settings. Note that the "LineOut" has no values and that the SignalProcessing assigned to IntSpeaker includes Muting, Gain management and Equalization. DSP is also used on the mic.

6. Select each item within the "IntSpeaker" item ("MaximumBootBeep", "MuteGPIO" and "SignalProcessing") and click on the "Delete" button at the top of the Plist Editor window so that "IntSpeaker" has no entries (like "Line Out"). (In principle you really only need to get rid of "SignalProcessing" cause that's what's killing the bass, but I figured if I was using this out as a line out, then why not make it the same. Up to you.)
7. Save the plist and close plist editor and the two "Content" finder windows.
8. Now replace the original kext. I find Kext Helper 0.7 works fine for this; open Kext Helper and drag and drop your modded kext on it's window, and click on Easy Install... wait 20 seconds or so before rebooting (let the HD finish thrashing about)
9. Reboot and you're done.

You need "Property List editor", you can google to download this application...
Also, Mr.Krabs found that for dell Studio IDT Audio just needed to delete "SignalProcessing" and keep "MaximumBootBeep" and "MuteGPIO" so you have to try both and may be bass will be back...

ok so i am using sabres' kext and everything is working mic/audio for my hp dv5t except when i wake the computer from sleep my audio disappears. is there a fix for this? i have tried everything. also is there anything i can manually do to get audio back without having to restart the computer?

Hi guys,

I already try to config my audio on Ideneb 1.3 10.5.5, but OsX don't find and istall any device.
I read this post and try to install almost the dumps that i've download in hdapatcher 1.6 and delete applehda and/or alcinkject, use disk utility, etc., but never find the audio device.

This is my config:

Ideneb works for me with the line comand: -v -x cpus=1

ex. mine is 0x293e8086

your guna love this but i think u have the exact same setup as me lol try my kext with my pinconfig in it:

http://rapidshare.com/files/156344109/111D...pleHDA.kext.zip

I'm quoting this post because this kext works on my HP dv3510nr...almost.

I originally installed this kext on an iDeneb installation 10.5.5. I used this kext out of sheer desperation as I had been attempting to make my own following the guide. To my surprise...it worked! Everything worked, including the built in mic.

Fast forward a bit to an iATKOS v5i installation, vanilla everything. A successful upgrade to 10.5.6 straight from software update. I am running the 9.6 vanilla kernel. The system is running much better now and this same kext still gives me audio. However, my microphone shows no input controls in system preferences.

Here's the kicker, my device id is 0x103C1505

The binary in that kext and the information in the plists all points to this poster's device id which is 111D76B2. I believe the reason the sound works is because we share the same (pin config, oicpprimary match?, I don't know what it's called) but it's 0x293e8086 That does match my system. What I don't understand is how the microphone somehow got lost in the switch from iDeneb to iATKOS.

I'm very diligent about searching for my answers via google and various forums, but this one is stumping me. Any help is appreciated.

I have attached two screenshots of my system.

Hey, I successfully got this driver installed, (yay sound works!)
my device id = 0x111D76B2

and I used a pre-modded kext that was posted here, but I'm getting a kernel panic on AppleHDA.kext on shutdown.

I have ALCInject removed, and I've repaired the permissions with diskutil. I saw someone else on this forum repaired disk permission with OnyX to get rid of this problem, is this necessary? Is there any difference with using OnyX to fix my kext permissions, and has any1 else encountered this this kernel panic problem with these drivers on shutdown/restart.

Best
Arthur

you can repair permissions properly by grabbing a terminal and typing this 'sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions' enter ur password then 'sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions' then 'sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions'
enter these without the ' also do this any time u change a kext or touch the extensions folder

this might not help much but the 0x103C1505 is your subsystem id. the injector sets this so basically what i am saying is dont trust system profiler. also check your subsystem id and vista and see if it matches this.

RaidenII: nVidia HDMI @ intel 82801ib ich9, devid 000610de is not HDA controller. It's another Audio Card play through HDMI interface. We are still waiting for its driver.

Any news on getting HDMI audio from this hardware?

Just for kicks I added entries in the AppleHDAController info.plist for the modem and hdmi (codec1 and codec2 respectively on linux). The '1' entry in HDAConfigDefault is pretty sparse but for '2' I used the rules of pin config formatting for this:

<20571c10 20571d01 20571e56 20571f18 20771c21 20771d01 20771e56 20771f58 20971c22 20971d01 20971e56 20971f58 20b71c23 20b71d01 20b71e56 20b71f58 20d71c24 20d71d01 20d71e56 20d71f58>

But no luck. Need the binary.

i have a compaq mini 700el
with a IDT card with ID Ven 111 Dev 7608 rev 1001
i have installed ideneb 1.3 10.5.5
everything works except sound even sleep mode.how can i enable the sound card?
if i enable sound card i will post here all the files and instructions "how to" in this post:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...p;#entry1011580
P.S in mac the ID given is : 0x103c361A
thanks anticipated

it's confirmed on some linux forum, working configuration require to enable MSI:
My current setup:

* Ubuntu 8.10 - kernel 2.6.27-7-generic
* System fully up-to-date, all updates installed
* Standard ALSA drivers
* Added options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1 to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
* No additional kernel options (like pci=noacpi)

I'm afraid without MSI-X enabled in AppleHDA driver, sound on compaq mini 700 will not work.

If your using a DSDT.aml file you can do away with HDAEnabler.kext and fix audio in DSDT for a better solution.

Hy,

I have a problem with IDT 92hd73e on 10.5.6 on VMWare. Tried all found solutions on this forum (AppleHDAPatcher, editing AppleHDA.kext ... ) and no sound so far on my Intel DG45ID.
My hardware id: 111d7676 subsy[s 80865002 rev 1002

Linux codec dump attached.

Help would be appreciated.

I have this same Motherboard, and can't get the IDT sound to work either.

Anyone have any idea on this setup?

Yep. DP45SG with IDT 92HD73E audio, still no sound. Followed this guide, pin config guide, and tried azalia audio also. I am thinking we need to pay attention to the NODEID in the controller plist...not sure though. It seems that after editing the kexts the ports are not correctly configured as well some other issues involving the InputAmp and other internal devices. I don't really understand any of it, but I am trying to learn...several posts back someone brings it up, but I haven't been able to understand/apply this to my board. I will surely post my kext if I can figure it out, but I am sure someone smarter will beat me to it.

Keep up the hard work everyone, we will get it eventually!

Hey,

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me get the audio working for my HP Mini 1030NR. I installed using iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5 and got everything to work except for audio. I have tried performing the hexedit but honestly do not know where to begin. My device ID = 0x103C361A and dec is 272381466. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Okay I finally figured how to follow the guide to fix the audio. I did not do the pinconfig because I no longer have windows on the system. But when I followed the steps system profiler shows the speakers and mic as internal and mic as 1/8 jack but no sound icon and nothing in system preference pane. Went back to the original kext from myhpmini.com and got sound icon but profiler shows everything as 1/8 jack with no internal speakers. Any suggestions?????

Thanks.

Yeah I'm using the DP45SG as well. Tried this guide, as well as the pin config, no cigar. Took me forever, but I tried to be accurate to make sure I got all the steps right. It doesn't seem like anyone with that IDT audio has got it working.

On a side note, I don't have USB working either (except the keyboard mouse if they're plugged in from before). Which distro and/or kext did you use for USB on this board?

Use this one I posted over here:

I use the DG45ID, this makes USB work 100%, even with Legacy USB enabled in teh BIOS. These are basically the same Mobo.

Igave up on that.

Get a SIIG USB audio card. USB, fully Mac OS plug & play - no drivers needed - only costs $30.

that and a better video card (I now use an ATI Radeon 2400 pro), and the DG45ID runs fantastic.

i wonder if its related to hd codec enabled in bios(try disable hd codec), it says audio separately: enabled
a new codec dump would probably point differences due to hdmi and hdaudiolink header inside mobo?

i turned it off and it doesnt show much on lspci devices. so it likely is needed on.

I would love to work on this directly with some pros (with teamviewer they can take control of it).
im sure we can do this. i have linux codec dump of DG45iD from sssharer's link and i see it has many pinout config's .. id love to know how to use the dump to figure out this mess.

I will take a serious stab at this in a couple of days. I am pretty sure I got the pinconfig part right, but there were a couple of extra keys in the windows registry. One of them was a key stating the number of entries and I forget what the other one was. I will take a codec dump from a linux live cd and see where it goes from there.

compare your dump to sssharer's dump to see if its really same unsure.gif hysterical.gif
i had started yesterday to edit applehda as in thread and found they mixed their ids in the binary. and a typo
AREOS dev id (decimal) = 287143600
age_sabres18 dev id (decimal) = 287143602
typo is ex. CodecID = 2871433602 in step 4.
ours is ex. CodecID = 287143542

do they have hdmi that could be extra config.to a separate chan that we see in dump (elimitate ? i wish ther would be an IDT patcher lol) the hdaenabler might have issues.?

anyways i got stuck at step 4 not sure what we got Edit IOPCIPrimaryMatch with your HD audio controller.
Mine is Intel Audio Controller 0x293e8086
ex. IOPCIPrimaryMatch = 0x293e8086
ahh i see this is the dev_293e . will be trying pinconfig and patch guide for next day. been busy with kid all day.

i wonder if ridgeline could see pinout on this.

the ironic part is i had usb sound card few weeks ago and gave it to a friend. doh.. im selling this board i think.

Here's the codec dump for my audio from a Linux live CD, maybe it will help you out in the meantime. I will play around with this audio problem in the next day or two and let you know.

Still not able to get audio to work, but I think I found the value that goes into IOPCIPrimaryMatch. I believe it is 0x3a3e8086. I got this by looking under the "High Definition Audio Controller" in Device Manager in Windows 7. Under the Details tab under property "Hardware IDs". I got it by concatenating the DEV ID with the VEN ID. It sounds about right, pun intended.

As for giving your USB sound away, looks like no good deed goes unpunished.

I tried adding the pinconfig in the configdata section of the plist, but still no audio. Any luck on your end?

Hi

thanks for this guide, IDT sucks on laptop, and i was scared it was impossible to find a solution

But I have a little problem ( i have not tried the guide yet coz i am lost about device ID)

The Step 1: Codec device id

To check my ID, i went to system/device manager ...

I checked the properties : IDT high definition audio codec

In device ID, i don't have like : 0x111D76B0

I have :

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7627&SUBSYS_30D4103C&REV_1002
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7627&SUBSYS_30D4103C

I installed Everest, and check , i am more lost :

I have two things :

[ Intel 82801HBM ICH8M - High Definition Audio Controller ]
Device ID :8086-284B
subsystem ID :103C-30D4
Hardware ID : PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_284B&SUBSYS_30D4103C&REV_03

[ SigmaTel STAC9271D ]
Device ID : 8384-7627
Subsystem ID : 30D4-103C
Hardware ID : HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7627&SUBSYS_30D4103C&REV_1002

Which Id is for the step 1 and the Intel Audio Controller in step 4 ??

thanks

First off, big thanks to age_sabres18 for this excellent guide!!! However, I'm pretty much at my wits end with this kernel panic caused by the AppleHDAController... I downloaded a working HDA kext for my IDT 0x111D76B2 and get it, and I edited the provided kext in the first post and still receive the same panic. Skimming through the posts, it looks like the HDAs I'm working on may be older than the 10.5.6 kext that I would need??? Someone please help!!!

Actually I gave that a try... it worked but the audio was extremely quite. I'll give it another try and see if it fixes the shutdown issue, and possibly if there's some way to set the defaults to increase the volume...

Anyone have this working on a HP Mini 1000? VoodooHDA is nice, but it would be even better to have the IDT Audio working fully including internal mic.
tk31
wtf... i didnt do all this.. i simply downloaded and installed 2 kexts with OSx86 Tools and rebooted, and IDT is working on my HP DV5-1134TX.

None of this editing was needed. I think it may be pre-built versions using this tutorial, but if anyone wants the drivers and cant do this tutorial, PM me... ill send em over to you.

EVERYTHING works: External mic jack, internal microphone, dual headphone jacks. Though theres a slight glitch with the headphones, but its nothing major.

EDIT:

Is it right that headphones may work on IDT 92HD73C1 together with speaker? Please confirm this fact. It's VERY important for Dell Studio 1535 users.
