InsanelyMac Forum > OSx86 Project > Hardware and Drivers > Sound

i tried simply everything just to get my soundcard work .. my mobo is Abit - IP35 .. its on board sound card seems to be ALC888 ( which i'm not sure anymore :s )

I used KextHelper 0.7 to install ALC888_Taruga there were errors of "no such file or directory" so i decided that this wasnt my soundcard's driver. then i tried ALC888 kexts it gave me the same no such file or Directory error. Lastly i tried AzaliaAudio kext on KextHelper 0.7 ... there wasnt any errors .. i repaired permissions and restarted ..

but no use. no sound at all again ..

also i tried ncx5_ALC888.codec.dump on AppleHDAPatcherv1.20 also tried every alc888.txts i have ever found but no-go too ..

i am about to give up now sad.gif pls help - tnx in advance

tnx for the reply mate .. i'll try this tonite .. one thing to ask tho .. after double clicking on these mpkg's it install itself automatically .. do i need to do repair permissions or anything afterwards on terminal or anything ? or this installation does all the repair permissions - deleting backup kexts etc. by itself ?

excuse me if those Qs are silly but i'm very new to hackintosh sad.gif

0x10ecffff 0x14f1ffff 0x11d4ffff 0x434dffff 0x8384ffff is the string in the Apple Azalia Audio Codec ALC880 and you are modifying this string.......

Was this the IP35, IP35 Pro, IP35-E, or IP35P?? I own the IP35P and i'm in a similar position where i can not for the life of me get audio working. What exactly did you do to get this working? I desperately want audio.
