First of all, I would like to say thank you very much for all your help. With it I got almost 85% of my hardware working.

Next, I would like to ask you to help me with the audio.
There was one thread (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=20497&hl=ac+link) created but the author left it without describing how he had solved his problem.
I have Conexant ac link or ac2 link audio, cant really remember (but it doesnt matter, does it?) and Leo4allv4beta installed.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, its me again.
I booted into ubuntu and looked up hardware information there (7.10 ubuntu, 8.04 - Hardy Heron doesnt have hardware info app, you have to type in the terminal lshw,lspci,lsusb, which dont give the full info AFAIK).
It listed my sound card as AC97.
Win XP showed that I had conexant AC Link audio.
Quite strange

If anyone firmly knows that there's no solution to this problem (apparently, there should be one, coz i have my intel 900GMA with QE and CI supported , plus atheros 5005GS fully working (i hope, havent checked WPA yet) without freezes using 10.5.2 kext) PLEASE POST HERE. There should be at least one solution apart from just buying a new sound device.

im using leo4allv4beta. Will try out iAtkos4 may be itll work.
Tried to modify appleac97audio.kext by putting 0x26688086 instead of 0x266e8086 where it said about ICH6 (i have ICH6) but it locked pid somehow (system couldnt boot next time). Atheros btw freezed

any updates for Conexant HD-Audio SmartAudio 221?

AppleHDA?

I am using Leo4Allv3 and it is the only edition which worked, iDeneb paniced
I know, that my soundcard is recognized as Conexant AMC2 in windows, it also works in linux Ubuntu right out of the box and is recognized as AC97 with 0x266e8086.
I dont understand why it doesnt work and nobody says anything about this issue. It is like another stupid thread, like: "Help me, how to mount a DVD image".
If anybody knows what to do or if it is possible to anything at all with this soundcard please do us a favor and post in this thread. You will save a lot of time for people who will google to this page looking for a solution. I am pretty sure that this card is quite popular, isnt it?

CPU - Intel pentium M 1.60 Ghz, SSE, SSE2
Graphics - Intel GMA 900 - working with Qe an Ci enabled, without glitches! Native screen resolution!
Sound - Conexant AC link = Conexant AMC2 = AC97 - not working!
Ram - 2Gb
HDD - IDE 160Gb Seagate
Wifi - Atheros 5212 = TP-link TL-WN660G - Working!


Really need to get sound to work because I am a musician and I want to try Logic studio and other programms out desperately!
