Hello there fellas. I just got this motherboard and its working almost perfectly with the Kalyway 10.5.2 intel/amd DVD disc. Its quite fast and seems like stable for my 2nd setup. I was wondering if anyone here has this mobo and got it working 100%? Anyone here willing to share a few tips with this newb?

http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/D945GCNL/

Specs:

Video Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (Intel® GMA 950) onboard graphics subsystem

Working but with lots of artifacts -using default kalyway gma950 driver-, i readed somewhere around that this could be solved with paulicat driver is this correct?

Audio Intel® High Definition Audio subsystem in the following configuration:
6-channel (5.1) audio subsystem using the Realtek ALC888* audio codec

I got this working using the Azalia audio driver but it works really bad, just one output, i readded somewhere around that this was working for another user with the d945gcnl.. i just wonder how smile.gif

Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbits/sec) LAN subsystem using the Realtek RTL8111B-GR* device

It worked using the RealtekR1000.kext

Also.. there is this persistent bug.. my usb audio card works but it has all these annoying buzzes and weird noises all the time.. I was wondering if this has something to do with the Appleusbaudio.kext included in the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD, because this weird bug was present on my P5WDH too.. so i was wondering if you guys could share a clean/vanilla 10.5.2 Appleusbaudio.kext with me?

Thanks in advance!

So, my P5WDH died today, and i was hoping for someone to give me some hope. I remember someone here telling me that had his D945GCL working perfectly.. I just need to get the audio working, everything else works out of the box. Help!

hi -

today i've installed kalyway 10.5.2 in this mobo , and it also instal and run perfectly. i've only tested on 1024 resolution. i'll test more when i bought this mobo. cause i work in computer store so i can test with many mobo's hehe..
install with dvd pata to hdd sata. so no problem with sata controller

things haven't run yet is : usb don't recognize flashdrives, sound output okay, Lan - i dunno yet

boot fast, no mouse trails, and damn smooth Cover flow
QE/CI enabled -- genie effect runs fine , no jaggies - at least that what i saw with that 1024 res.

pretty fast for such intel atom 230 onboard

Can any one help me?

i just had same issue. appears vanilla kalyway 10.5.2 doesnt make it bootable. i had to use terminal to do fdisk -i -a boothfs/dev/rdisk0 ) being my only drive . no windows ntfs in. this will autopartition and make it bootable then exit terminal. it worked after 3 tries and 3 hrs of trying to figure out. blink.gif

EDIT: in disktool u can chose partitioning tab and select 1 partition and makes it bootable. use guid or mbr . i used guid for a hd by itself and worked.

i have this board running mostly vanilla for a friend. audio is bad from the kalyway 10.5.2 but i found somewhere a kext with fully working input and seems to work. just gotta see what forum it was in. dry.gif

Hi
Sorry for being late on reply. The following are Copy/Paste pieces from my replies to another member and it includes all the details I provided him/her with along with a link to the Fix files. I hope this will be helpful to you.

-----------------------Start of Copy/Paste-------------------------------------
i put the files on rapidshare for you. here is the link;

http://rapidshare.com/files/190354655/AudioFix.rar.html

After downloading them, pack up your current Extensions folder then copy/replace the fix files. you have to do permission repair on them and to get the time machine fix working use Disk Utility to repair permissions. to manually fix permissions open the terminal and SU, then;

cd /System/Library/Extensions
chmod -R 755 *
chown -R 0:0 *
cd ..
rm Extensions.*
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you wanna do a perfect install from the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD here are the installation tips for it:

-For kernel I selected 9.2.2 Kabyl. this is a 64Bit kernel and is working fine with me. the 9.2 Sleep worked fine too.

- Only select GMA 950 for GPU.

- For sound drivers keep the Realtek Sigmatel Conexant one checked.

- For LAN drivers only keep Realtek R1000 checked. I deselected all WiFi because I prefer wired connections.

- I left MoboChepsets checked.

- Deselect SSE2-Jas1048.

- Deselect all "Patches" except for Latest Netkas SMBIOS. this one works fine for me. Make sure you Do Not select the "PCGen USB Fix", otherwise you will have problems when using USB drives.

After installing my system I downloaded the 10.5.4 combo update from apple's website and manually installed it. Follow these steps to get it working;

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=87078&h

** Make sure you backup your Extensions folder before you dare to start the upgrade **

Hope I didn't leave any important details
