Full Version: STAC9271X on Intel DG33SXG2

I have a Gateway GM5485E that has an Intel G33 MOBO (I believe it is the Intel DG33TL) that has an integrated audio that in windows shows as Ven ID 8384 (Sigmatel) and Dev ID of 7626. I haven't found on this board or anywhere on the internet what Sigmatel this is. If it is the DG33TL, it has as the STAC9271D, but according to everything I can find on that, it shows as a Dev ID of 7627...

I haven't been able to boot off a Linux CD/DVD (not much time to try) to get a codec dump. Does anyone have a suggestion? I have tried the kext from this post for the DG33TL, but it doesn't work.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jon

Edit: to add that it is not a DG33TL, but a DG33SXG2 with a STAC9271X. I have tried the Codec dump and can't get it to work with HDAPatcher 1.15 thru 1.20.

Anyone? This is a great board except for the audio not working. Everything else works perfectly...

Thanks, but this is STAC9271X, not D (Device ID 7626, not 7627). There are a few others on the forum that have other Gateways that have the same sound chipset, but haven't gotten any to work.

Plus I have tried kext helper and manually installing them and changing the permissions, but nothing so far.

jedavis1: I have the same chipset (X not D, 6 not 7) and am in the same boat. Systems works fantastically, but no sound.

I'm running Leopard now, but when I had Tiger on the box I'm sure I got sound to work. Unfortunately, the Tiger config is long, long gone so I can't find out what I did. If you figure it all out, please post a note here. I'm still trying, but at this point, casting about in the dark.

Used the dump from his post, and the 1.16 version of the patcher and it worked like a dream. Haven't tried anything other than rear-stereo output, but that works fine.
