Woot i got a working volume controll, mic input and sound

some minor fixes but

I lost the ability to control volume level compared to the driver from Kalyway 10.5.1 DVD. But now I have mic input and digital output, although I have no way of testing digital out. This is on my p5k deluxe.

Same as before

Audio icon appears (with Azalia kext only) then disappears after a reboot. Then reappears after 10 reboots, then disappears again after a reboot.

With this patcher its just dead = No audio device output in System Preferences

Any ideas guys?...

My system now functions with 2 channel stereo and adjustable sound volume. I really appreciate your efforts.
My system seemed to be almost too new for all the posts about how to enable SoundMAX audio from a SoundFX II small PCI Express card that came with the mobo. I knew my VEN and DEV ids were 11D4 and 198B, but nothing seemed to quite fit. I also found that my device uses the Analog Devices AD1988B 8 channel HDA Codec.
Really happy now.

With this driver i have full funcionality(mic, digital output, volume control etc) for the sound card of the Asus p5k-e mobo

I used the AMD rev4 installer and that fixed my sound issue it seems I got my volume control back

Hey guys, does anyone have the rev4 installer, I tried rev3 with my m2n32-sli deluxe to try to get spdif out working, unfortunately it just produces a horrible high-pitched whine. I'm hoping that maybe the rev4 version might work.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

EDIT: seems as though the nasty sound was caused by my onboard wifi kicking in. I no longer need the wifi as I have got fully working onboard LAN now. However, I get no volume options using SPDIF!! is this normal??

I installed this patch and have no joy. System profiler now sees I have onboard audio, system preferences sees I have line out, line in etc, but I don't hear anything - it's all mute. Is it because I installed the Azalia audio kext before I tried using this? I was getting basic audio through the Azalia audio kexts.

I'm using an Asus Commando with SupremeFX Audio

has anyone actually got the 5.1 audio working from the ports on the back of the mobo, not the SPDIF but the regular jacks? I got a Logitech 5.1 speaker system but its going to waste on Leopard, having to switch to windows all the time to watch my movies =/ *wine*

OK i just use Installer rev.3 for AD1988b and i got sound icon and mic looks like is receiving something but no sound on speakers at all.

what kext should be used with this installer ?
any specific versions or original from retail ?

please help or upload packed kext used to get it working with this solution

I´ve got this working on a Rampage Formula, but something seems a bit strange about the sound. It sounds like there´s some kind of effect applied, like a reverb.

Anybody else see this with Taruga´s driver ?

Also, is Taruga around / active ? Seems the domain is expired etc.

Are there any other drivers that work for stereo output for this chip ?

i get absolutely no results from anything i've tried. be it taruga's (both rev3 and 4) azalia, among other solutions i've seen on this board. there's a blank space where i assume the volume control should be on the status bar at the top. but it's always been a blank space. nothing i've tried has generated any kind of response in the system prefs or anywhere. i see no change after running these scripts or adding kexts! i want to try editing appleHDA.kext with the right pin configuration but i can't run windows to get the registry entry that contains that information. can someone help plz???
