On my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M1450G, my ESI U46DJ USB soundcard won't get listed in the System Preferences -> Sound Pane. However, the "Control Panel" of the U46DJ activates itself as soon as I put the soundcard into the USB port, so USB communication must occur. The soundcard also gets listed in the list of USB devices by the System Profiler.
So I guess that somehow the USB Audio Driver (AppleUSBAudio.kext?) does not work properly (as a sidenode I would like to mention that ESI never released a own driver for this soundcard, only the Control Panel) ? I tried the Soundblaster USB Audio driver without success.
The same soundcard works on the same computer with Windows, and also works on my IBook G4.
As a last note I would like to mention that a friend's Digidesign DIGI002 stopped working exactly the same way on his Dual G5 after a genuine OS X update, so I don't think that this is an OSX86-only issue.
If anybody has ever experienced this kind of issue, with OS X or with OS X86 I would be thankful for any help.
