Did anybody have success with this graphics?
It should be supported since the new MBP has one!
NVinject of course doesnt work... Maybe I'll try GFX-Strings soon...
Thanks in advance

ok.. it have been 2 weeks since I tried to do the same!
the results:
NON EFI:
drivers:
GEFORCE.
NVDANV50Hal.
NVDARESMAN.
(those drivers are good in 10.5.5 package or 10.5.6.. -> 1.5.34 or 1.5.36 versions)
you MUST override the PCImatch section with the number of the beast.. 0x0649010de
injector:
nvkush (KO)
nvdarwin (ok but no qe/ci )
nvinject (ok but no qe/ci 0.2.1 or 0.2.0)
nvresolv (ko)
nvinjectgo (0.2.0 OK with QE/CI but crash in system profiles in video section and cannot see lcd data..
you have at best 1280x800)
you can put nvcap with the ROM IN ATTACHED overriding the nvcap data in the injector.. but the result .. i'll test this evening.. if I have all the output working fine..
GFX EFI:
At today.. I haven't found any efi method to extrapolate from win/linux/mac the good efi of my card.. the only efi founded is the EFI of 9600GT 512mb.. which is QUITE different!!!
then.. with efi string the system start.. but no QE/CI
i tried also to replace IOGraphicsfamily.kext from 1.6.1 (10.5.5) to 1.7.1 (10.5.6) and a patched one 1.7.2..
i tried also to use drivers of Snow..
i tried also to use those drivers:
n9000 v1
n9000 v2
xdarwin 1.1
nvinstaller v 41
nvinstaller v52
nvinstaller v 1.2.1
nvinstaller v 1.2.3
nvinstaller v 1.2.5
acquamac
0-9f23 installer
without any real difference between native drivers and a good injector.. but most of them put injector that you must change inside!! if not.. you can see:
black screen..
strange screen
no screen (not black .. only text boot and no start of windowserver)
screen with thousand of crash and slow without the possibility of move.. ( nvdarwin with xdarwin .. .in ascade!)
bye

maybe I think it's caused by these typical situations:
-do you have other injector? if so--> remove it and leave only nvdarwin.. if you want to test it!
-in the 3 files.. geforce.. nvdanv50 and nvresolver did you check about correct id of the card?
PLEASE: could you give me the output of:

@tank6b:
I must point out that I'm using a vanilla leopard installation. I see that you're using iDeneb. Maybe this distro has some modified kexts or bundles that interfere with the display system. Maybe that has nothing at all to do with it, but maybe you could try to do a vanilla install and see how it goes.
@ugokind:
Yes, you can use OSX86Tools or EFIStudio to import the xml file, convert it to an hex string and inject it in your com.apple.Boot.plist file. Be sure to remove ALL injectors (NVinject, NVdarwin, etc) and use vanilla 10.5.6 kexts.

ok ugokind i will try it, but i think i have to change your devid 0x0649 (GT) to mine 0x0648 (GS) ?
Update:
no same result -> black screen after adding my device id, permission repair and reboot
what could that be?
ugokind
Mar 1 2009, 10:29 AM
yes you shuld change id on nvda* kext.. and..
choose and try one by one one injector .. only the natit is not valid.
nvdarwin is not good for you?
chaka123
Mar 1 2009, 12:46 PM
hmm i think the main problem is with the nvdaresman.kext, because itīs allways the same result, while itīs installed:
nvdarwin -> black screen / without NvdaResman.kext booted up but gfx recognized but without QE/CI and no vga/hdmi
efi string -> black screen / without NvdaResman.kext booted up but gfx recognized but without QE/CI and no vga/hdmi
dsdt patch -> black screen / without NvdaResman.kext booted up but gfx recognized but without QE/CI and no vga/hdmi
with nvdaresman the screen goes black after osx boots up but the system is correctly bootet up because i can here sounds of volume up etc..
ok i will try another injector but i think itīs gonna be the same result.
ugokind
Mar 1 2009, 05:29 PM
then the problem seems to be nvdaresman..

hmm i donīt installed anything, only sata driver, fixes and patches. but i tried allthough with latest mbp kexts
ugokind
Mar 2 2009, 08:29 PM
ok. we've very different setup.. it's hard to help ypu.. i've 10.5.6.. with smbios-33 anv compiled .. dsdt .. (but with kernel 9.5 voodoo xnu and chamaleon 1.0.12 dsdt is not useful) and I think my nvdaresman is only good for that config.
in fact I tried too to replace and load the most recent drivers.. with black screen.
Really no.. .it's not a black screen.. is as you wrote.. is a dark simil black screen.. but you see a little backlight rear.. and hear tipical process of gui that is started.

ok.. another try
did you get ideneb upgrade kit 1.1?
is in italian sub forum
this includes a lot of changes to patch correctly an hackintosh 10.5.6 with the correct stuff..
important.. it put correct acpi.. iopci.. appleframebuffer, io graphicfamily.. and important.. it has a packet called InvidiaID .. that remake your kext nvidia to fit all the id of all the known cards.
i tested it and my resolution remains.. and qe/ci too. then.. i consider that that package is very heavy (600+ mb) but useful.
because of the fact that in the time you (me.. ) do a lot of changes.. and it's is difficult to take the map of which drivers are congruent into the same macro upgrade (10.5.6 i.e.) or which are modded.. patched.. older.. etc.
then.. with that package i resolved 3 big issues..
ioctl error in 9.6 kernel.
stop/sleep problem
crash in finder
it's better than nothing!
important.. i don't use smbios original... because we've 1066 ddr2 ram.. and not 667!

I will like to have the native internal display resolution of my Vaio VGN-AW11S/B which is 1920x1080; when I set this on the boot options the resolution is increased but the settings remain to 1024x768 and the interface looks bad resized just like on the standard resolution.
I don't need QE/VI or the VGA/HDMI, but I need badly this resolution to work on iPhone Apps

Hi Laqk,
I have a DV5-1174CA which is virtually identical to your DV5-1157CA. I believe that I have BlueRay and a slightly slower processor compared to your model.
You stated that the DV5-1157CA works perfectly on a Leopard 10.5.6 installation with the vanilla kexts. I'm not sure what "vanilla kexts" means and I do not know which Leopard distro you used. The same goes for what "vanilla install" means.
Which distro did you use and did you keep the original Vista installation? Are you dual booting to Vista/Leopard?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Marc F

Hope that helps.
(Of course you'll have to check to pciroot for your machine and adjust the VRAM,totalsize parameter to reflect your card. As for the rom-revision parameter, what you write there is irrelevant, but it is what's going to appear in system information)

hi ugokind
still got no luck with my 9600m gs
i think tank6b and me have the same issue with black screen.
it has nothing to do with injectors i think, because itīs always the same thing
ahh my hdmi out is working now

but internal screen stays black
(or i remove nvdraresman.kext than it works but hdmi etc.. wonīt)
maybe itīs related to nvcap? iīm going to build my string again...maybe it helps...
