Well, it worked. Deleting all ATI keys let me boot the system in normal mode & continue to work on the sound issues. Thanks.

Hello, I have a Samsung R522 laptop, using iDeneb 1.6, 10.5.8, the Voodoo kernel. I am using VoodooHDA with my Realtek ALC272 Soundcard (see more computer details at http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...rtables#Samsung). What is working: - sound output works (whether the head-jack or internal speakers) Whats is not working: - sound input: the microphone does not work - under SystemPreferences/VoodooHDA pane, it shows me only one item (1: Digital-out), saying VoodooHDA loaded, but i cannot use the mixer controls or other items - under SystemPreferences/Sound I can see a microphone at Input, I put the mixer to maximum, but no result - a lot of error messages at dmesg I tested the sound with Skype. Hello, finally I got my audio output working by removing all ATI kext files, but the microphone is not working yet. So I would like to study dmesg for more info. So I had a look into dmesg - but it is not complete and cut in a certain way. Any ideas how to increase the dmesg system buffer size so that I can see all boot & system messages? Hello Guys, i have a samsung laptop with a ATI Mobility 4650 graphic card (http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.8/Portables#Samsung). Unfortunatly I can only boot the machine in safe mode, due to graphic problems. If I do not boot in safe mode then I see a white sreens with about 8 strange pixel sets which seems to react like my mouse. Well, here is my question: imaging I don't want to use the graphic stuff (quarz, ...) - how can I boot the computer in normal mode without the ATI graphic? Just a simple graphic mode how it appears as well during the installation of MacOS. Which kext is responsible for the normal simple graphic mode? Should I delete all the ATI**** kexts? I am using iDeneb 10.5.8 with the 9.8.0 Voodoo Kernel Thanks for your help.

I changed the wifi card as well because the Atheros 5007EG is not well supported. My new Broadcom card is well supported by Vista and MacOS. Hello all, I am trying to get to work the audio hardware on my Samsung laptop R522 (http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.8/Portables#Samsung) but nothing worked out right now. My system environment is: iDeneb 10.5.8, Kernel Version Darwin 9.8.0 - VoodooHDA not working (I got just a VoodooHDA Symbol in System Preferences, when I click on it, errors, I deinstalled the voodooHDA.kext but the pane is still in System Preferences) - Azalia not working (even no messages) - AppleHDA & HDAEnabler not working (dmesg reports twice: HDAEnabler: Copyright © 2008 by Kabyl, HDAEnabler: Added SPAudio support LayoutID:4) Really confusing for me is the fact that Windows Vista reports the Realtek ALC272 HDA (10DC:0272) soundcard and MacOSX the Intel HDA Controller (8086:293E).
