  1. Is there any way to get sidecar working in 10.15 or Big Sur with X299 without an iGPU?
  2. Is the OP still up to date for Big Sur regarding the top two cards being natively supported? Last edit was 2019.
  3. A Samsung PM983 appears to panic on shutdown each time (without this kext), and if I install the current NVMeFix and Lilu then IOAHCIBlockStorage panics on startup. This is on an ASUS X299 Deluxe II in 10.15.7 using Clover. Shutdown panic (received at next startup): panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff7f85431231): nvme: "Fatal error occurred. 4. I have a different CPU now, but dropping the stock APIC and injecting the fixed APIC should be all you need that is specific to the i9-9820X. Depending on BIOS version you might need to deal with AWAC and the CFG-Lock, but that holds true for Clover and OC alike.
  5. @obus No, I haven't tested in OC, but others have. Regardless of the bootloader it is the same problems causing MacOS to hang or panic.
  6. You can boot MacOS with the latest BIOS if you update to the latest Clover (fixed renames that are broken with the newer BIOSes), add CascadeLakeFix SSDT (addresses new AWAC device that panics), and re-patch for the new MSR offset. That said, I am having trouble entering the BIOS all of a sudden (A9 Q-code, black screen), so I'm rolling back again. patches.txt--new BIOS'es.zip SSDT-X299-CascadeLakeFix.aml Edit: I noticed that disabling the serial port in the BIOS has no effect. I used the following patch to stop MacOS attaching to it (thanks corpnewt) <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>Disable UART/Serial Port</string> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>Find</key> <data>QdAFAQ==</data> <key>Replace</key> <data>AQIDBA==</data> </dict>
  7. What does Apple deprecating kexts and moving drivers to driverKits and out of kernel space mean for VirtualSMC? Apologies if this has been discussed.
  8. I'm getting off-topicky with all this, but I ended up buying this $10 card that works fine with RTL8111.kext: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S14JR2V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thanks all!
  9. Thanks for the quick response Mieze (and all of your work around here). Is your RTL8111 also only for integrated LAN's? Or would it work with a card like this? https://www.newegg.com/syba-sd-pex24009/p/N82E16833328018?Description=RTL8111&cm_re=RTL8111-_-33-328-018-_-Product&quicklink=true
  10. Can anyone recommend a PCIe card that is supported by this driver? Hopefully inexpensive Thanks!
  11. I am attempting to inject some thunderbolt AAPL,PathProperties via .efi, but am unable to do so in Clover. OpenCore supports it, but Clover does not yet. Even removing this partial implementation in Clover would be an improvement since then I could use EfiDevicePathPropertyDatabase.efi to enable AAPL,PathProperties injection via .efi, which used to work in older versions of Clover before Clover partially enabled this feature.
  12. @Slice Can you complete your implementation of this protocol? Thank you! https://github.com/CloverHackyColor/CloverBootloader/blob/master/rEFIt_UEFI/Platform/Injectors.c#L350-L355 //obligatory protocol Status = gBS->InstallProtocolInterface (&gImageHandle, &gDevicePropertiesGuid, EFI_NATIVE_INTERFACE, &mDeviceProperties );
  13. I have a CPU (9820X) that requires the APIC table to be patched to boot. Clover now automates this with "PatchAPIC" under ACPI, but I don't see a similar option for OpenCore. Is there one that I am missing? edit: I tried patching the table with a bin patch, but it doesn't seem to have the effect I wanted. I'm running into trouble manually patching the APIC table as it will not compile. I ended up manually patching the SSDT and dropping the OEM table. Attached is my modified APIC (ASUS X299 Deluxe II /w 9820X), and a screenshot of what I dropped. APIC.aml
  14. Nevermind, now to try to stitch these two FWs together...
  15. @Slice An IM user (Osy) has managed to package Intel's TB3 firmware inside of Apple's TB3 firmware and successfully load it onto their Alpine Ridge TB3 controller, which results in virtually perfect TB3 for the first time. You can read about it here: https://osy.gitbook.io/hac-mini-guide/details/thunderbolt-3-fix-part-3 I assume everyone will want to do this going forward, so I was curious if it is possible to implement any features in Clover to enables users to do this more easily? Is something like a Patch VBIOS injection even technically possible in such a case? I assume not, but curious what you think about it. Thanks!
