  1. Thanks! Comparing the two it looks like only one string has changed in 12.3: 751AB9 to EB1AB9
  2. Can you share the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement binary? I don't run Monterey but can take a look.
  3. Version 1.0.0

Generated with ssdtPRGen.sh -target 1 -c 3 -xcpm 1 This gets working PM on my P9X79 Pro with i7-3930k. Tested in High Sierra and Big Sur using MP6,1 SMBIOS.
  4. hey man, what x79 board do u have ? i have sabertooth x79 and 3930k and wonder if u have tried mojave and got pm working ?

  5. No problem. I ended up reinstalled Big Sur on the X79 so it would boot to the desktop. Safe mode may or may not have fixed the black screen issue I was getting.
  6. Thanks. I'm aware it's possible. I tried it once when I was running the Monterey beta on my Z68 but I like to keep my systems as vanilla as possible and having to hack in drivers after every update was just too much fuss for me.
  7. I booted the X79 with the debug version of 0.7.6. Attached is the efi folder and the boot log file. Hope this is enough. x79-debug-efi.zip
  8. Thanks, but that seems like a lot of work just to fix safe mode. Why is that broken when I can boot into regular Big Sur just fine? Monterey isn't an option for either machine due to them having Kepler cards. This is actually the reason I was trying to get into safe mode in the first place. I set up a Big Sur install on the Z68 which is connected to the display via DP. When I brought it over to the X79 which uses DVI I got stuck on a black screen with mouse cursor in place of the login window. I read that booting into safe mode could fix this so I wanted to give that a try.
  9. I'm using MP6,1 which I'm assuming is supported. Here's the verbose output behind the screen. After this displays for a short while it drops back to the OC bootpicker. In this boot I tried setting securebootmodel to default (I had it disabled up to now) to see if it made any difference. It didn't. And booting with securebootmodel set to disabled gives similar output (minus the middle KernelCollections section).
  10. I can't get either of my hacks (in sig) to boot Big Sur in safe mode with latest official OC. I get a prohibited sign with a support.apple.com/mac/startup url on screen. EnableSafeModeSlide is set to true. Is there anything else I could try?
  11. OK, mystery solved! Running these on High Sierra meant they weren't using the latest catalogs. I manually set the right catalog with installinstallmacos.py and it pulls in the correct lists now.
  12. With 11.6.2 in there are you using a beta catalog? If you try with a release catalog 11.5.2 is the latest available download for Big Sur. At least it is here when using installinstallmacos.py or SUS Inspector.
  13. There's something weird going on with 11.6 for sure. If you use any of the tools or scripts to get the latest full Big Sur installer it's 11.5.2. 11.6 was "deprecated" and 11.6.1 was never listed. Maybe there were issues with 11.6 and 11.6.1 which need to be resolved with 11.6.2. I guess we'll see soon enough when it's officially out.
  14. Updated the Z68 from b6 to b9. No issues now that I had updated OC to 0.7.4 (previously b7 failed to install). As a test I installed chris1111's Kepler driver patch and that worked fine. However I'm not going to do that with every update so I wiped Monterey and went all the way back to Mavericks, which is the oldest system I can run as a MP6,1. It'll be nice to have a legacy system again as updating the GPU in my X79 means I can't boot my old Snow Leopard install on that.
  15. Thanks Fred! I only run the release builds so I'm still on 0.7.3. The drop of Kepler support is a bigger issue now. I'll check out the Kepler patch along with the next official OC release but this might be where I call it quits with Monterey and go back to something earlier.
