Trying to revive this thread... just installed iAtkos 10.7.2 Lion... works good sound and video, but very often kernel panics... and no trackpad, and the usb mouse scroll is inverted... anyone experienced with this?

Hi, i also have an Dell Inspiron N7110, how did you manage to install iAtkos? after install, mine stucks at W386x: found unsuported chip ID=0x85 REVISION=0x18 I followed the instructions found here http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.7.2/Portables#Inspiron_N5110 for Inspiron N5110. When i try to boot LION from USB stick it says: Operation System not found. Also Macdrive 8 doesn't reveal the Lion partition. Any help would be much appreciated

I don't know anything about a modified BIOS. What does it do anyway?

Thank you very much Ghostdust for your guide, i was able to install 10.6.3 and upgrade to 10.6.4 via Software Update, just one problem though: can't get the dreaded soundcard to work. Tried the AppleHDA with no success, i will search through the forums some more, if it doesn't work i'll try the iAtkos 10.6.4 distro. BTW, after updating, the kexts in /Extra didn't load so i had to use Kext Utility, maybe this helps somebody

nope, in april 2009 it still didn't work, t tried it on win7 64, xp 64, it only worked for me in xp32

make another partition, make it active (pqmagic or fdisk) install xp-32 and macdrive you will see then the hfs+ partition marked with a red apple, then go to folder /system/library/extensions and replace the 2 kexts (delete the originals first to makesure no subfolder or file remains) that's about it next, after you install osx move the active partition to the leo one and install chameleon 2 as a boot loader

maybe you should try macdrive and the selected kexts from first post or maybe you should search for another ideneb dvd source

Haveyou tried CTRL+F12 ? and btw, how is the new 10.5.7? any faster, better cpu management? Also, how do you upgrade to 10.5.7? Do you put kexts in Extra folder? which ones? any other conflicts?

DjOli maybe you should try the audio by Taruga, you card has 8 channels instead of 6 and your proc is T8400, maybe that is what's causing your problems, try DSDT patcher from first post
