THANKS!!! It worked, sorta... I just realized the DSDT that I gave you was not exactly sound, I had things pluged into the USB so I lost my bluetooth. I attached a clean one with nothing plugged in from windows, can you do that same fixes as the one above? VANILLA_DSDT.zip

Okay I'm gonna try that, Question though, is there a way that you can make my dsdt more structurally sound? As in instead of my devices being all over the place they are in the proper hierarchy? Okay Question, which legacyHDA kext do I use? my search showed alot and I dont wanna get the wrong one. Also does this method work with IDT codecs?

I ran the script and got my codec dumps (after many unsuccessful attempts) but I cant seem to find a tutorial on how to do this edit for Lion, think you can help me? The file includes a dsdt dump from linux...But the one you gave me earlier is alot better with the fixes. Also is hdmi audio possible or is that on the AMD card as well? 0M516T.zip

Okay Now Sleep works and so does Intel HD 3000, gonna try aschars linux script for sound and another smbios to see if i can kick the AMD on. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!

Thanks for that SD card reader now works, USB is detected as built-in but sleep not working at all. Audio still not working but system profiler sees it. Intel HD 3000 detected but not working no QE/CI. AMD not working. I have a question about injecting the following: AAPL,os-info is that something that is achieved with dsdt editing? If there is a tutorial please let me know so i may try.

Hey Guys I need help with my dsdt, I tried to edit but no luck. My system is as follows: Dell Vostro 3350: core i5 2410 8 gb ddr3 ram Intel HD 3000 GFX & AMD Radeon 6470M (detected as 6490 in Windows and Dell Calls it the 6490). Dell Wifi 1510 2 USB 3.0 and 1 USB2/estata hybrid. What works: Wifi. Keyboard (with fn shortcuts) Touchpad (with two finger Gestures ) What doesn't work: Graphics Audio USB is very finicky I saw madlon's run me file so I used it to dump a fresh DSDT. Please help me and if you can tell me what exactly you did I would appreciate it as I want to understand DSDT editing better. send_me.zip

Hey guys, Food for thought, I was sitting around trying to figure out based on other situations what we need to head the right direction. Now, I have a HP tablet with a ATI mobility card in it. A while back the best I could get graphics wise was essentially nothing...BUT, then Dong released his RadeonHD kext and I was able to get my native resolution, still no acceleration but its a IGP so no hopes there. Anyways I am saying this b/c I believe that this is the route we need to take, RadeonHD.kext acts as a framebuffer for unsupported gfx cards, it has nothing to do with acceleration (if your card isn't supported by the built in kexts that do accelerataion with or without modding then the best you'd get is your native resolution). Luckily we know that the GT 330M is infact supported by OS X. So I believe our issue is the framebuffer, this leaves us two options: 1) we modify the builtin framebuffer some way to make it work with our card (no idea how to do this). or 2) create a new framebuffer (or port an existing open source one if it exists) that will work with our cardd (I'm a java programmer and have very little obj-c experience so this needs pros). Tell me what y'all think if this sounds about right. ~DemonBlitz~

Well if your theory is true then, and please know that I dont know much about programing other than java, then a solution would be either: A: writing a driver that can make the connection to the display or B: patch the current ones in some way that we can detect our displays. Yes, bluetooth still functions due to it being a seperate card, I have not had time to test it. I only removed the front to that I may make not of the antenna cables but most likely it isn't needed (keep in mind I didn't have a guide to go through the steps, I was going blindly). As for the AR9281, I am not sure of its compatibility, your best bet is to either look around the web and see if anybody has gotten it to work, or (and I highly recommend this one) to go on the IRC and see if anybody there knows. I personally picked the Dell 1510 b/c it is a broadcom based chip that OSX doesn't have any issues detecting and using.

Alright you guys, my new wireless card just came in and I just finished installing it. I will give you the instructions for how to do it for the VPCF115FM notebook. For this guide I am replacing the AR9287 with a Dell 1510 wireless card. Notice: I am not responsible for any damage that happens to your device as a result of this. If you choose to use this you are fully aware of the risks in doing so. You only really need a small philips head screw driver and a flat head screwdriver. First Thing is first: REMOVE THE LAPTOP FROM ANY SOURCE OF POWER!!!! ie: remove battery and laptop power adapter. Second: Using the pdf I will attach you will notice that I color coded screws. Screws of the same color can be put together. RED DOES NOT EQUAL YELLOW! Remove the screws and put them somewhere for safe keeping. Third: Once you have removed all the screws, Remove the Optical disk drive, the HDD bay cover, and the RAM cover. Once the Optical drive has been removed you will see three more screws you need to remove. Step four: remove the screws holding the HDD bracket and then remove the HDD gently (Please take it from me, these things are sensitive and sony takes a BS time to replace them). Also, remove the four screws from under the battery and set them aside alone. Step five: Once all the screws have been removed, open the laptop and remove the Speaker cover as you will see in the pdf. **NOTE**: IF any part doesn't come off easily do not force it. go back and check for screws again. Step six: Remove the keyboard as shown and unplug the two cables from the motherboard. Step seven: Close the laptop up and gently remove the bottom off. This takes some maneuvering as you have to get around all the ports. Step eight: You should now see the mother board. In the picture you need to look near where the Optical disk drive was to see the wireless card is. (This location will vary if you do not have the same laptop as me.) Step nine: Remove the two screws holding the half-height mini pci wireless card and gently pull it from the slot. Make a note of the antenna cable locations and where they are plugged in. Step ten: move the cables onto the new card and reinstall the new card and replace the screws on. Step eleven: Go back through steps 10 - 1 Step twelve: after you make sure everything is back in place, start your laptop up and go to your windows partition and make sure it detects your new card, and you can connect to the internet. After that reboot into your OSX partition and do the same. If both check out you were succesful. This is my instructions for my Sony Vaio VPCF115FM notebook. This may or may not work with others and the only way to make sure that you can easily replace your wireless card is to do the steps above with any other windows capable mini pci card OTHER than the default. If you are unable to boot up then your bios has a whitelist that prevents you from easily switching cards. If you are able to boot, then its a matter of finding a card that is osx capable and the right form factor. To those who cant swap cards you need to look into having your bios whitelist removed or edited. Funky Frank: Yeah hard to believe Dell had the cheapest....It should be coming today so I will report it once I get enough time to disassemble my vaio. I'll post a tutorial here for it as soon as I can.
