Hello everyone! I own a Asus G1 Laptop ( the original...not the asus G1s or G2). I have windows XP SP2 installed on it. I partitioned my harddrive via diskpart, creating an unknown primary partition. I then restarted my computer and loaded into the Kalyway 10.5.1 dvd and installed it on the partition. When I got to the install screen I selected only the things that were suggested on the first page of this thread. It installed successfully! I have not installed any video, audio, or any drivers whatsoever yet. Hopefully soon I will try some if anyone has any suggestions? There are two problems I'm having 1. When I boot up and am given the option of selecting XP or OSX if I select Xp it won't boot into it, it just hangs there looking like this ( / ). 2. I can't shutdown OSX normally. I wait and it says OSX needs to restart by holding down the power button or waiting for it to shut off, but it doesn't shut off so I hold the power button. But besides that, it seems ok. I just wanted to confirm that it works on the G Series laptops : )

Hi you guys,
I've finally updated my Asus F3Jc to 10.5.5 using the Pre and Post Patches found on this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=109102 Now, I have internal keyboard, trackpad and shutdown support. I can use the 10.5.5 vanilla kernel or the Voodoo Beta 1 kernel. No problems. |

Scroll working on the trackpad - HOW TO
I've wrote this small how to get the scroll on the trackpad to work on the F3Jc laptop. Maybe it is usefull for other laptops. I don't know if this is a double post, but several people have asked me for this so here it goes. I'm posting this in Portuguese also. ENGLISH Go to System Preferences/Keyboard&Mouse and activate Trackpad gestures with Clicking e Dragging. Close System Preferences. Then head to System/Library/Extensions and find ApplePS2controller.kext. Backup a copy to the Desktop and another to the Document folder or whatever you like. Open the Kext on the Desktop by clicking it with the right mouse button and choosing Show package contents. Then, go to the folder Contents/PlugIns and remove the AppleTrackpad.kext. Close the folder and use Kexthelper to install the modified Kext on the desktop. Reboot and that's it. If you don't like the way it works, just restore with Kexthelper the other ApplePS2controller.kext copy. PORTUGUÊS Ir às System Preferences/Keyboard&Mouse e activar o Trackpad gestures para Clicking e Dragging. Fechar o System Preferences. A seguir ir à pasta System/Library/Extensions e procura o ApplePS2controller.kext. Copiar o kext para a pasta Documents e fazer outra cópia para o Desktop. Abrir a cópia do Desktop e clicar-lhe com o botão direito do rato; escolher: Show package contents. Depois, abrir a pasta Contents/PlugIns e eliminar o kext AppleTrackpad.kext. Fechar a pasta e usar o Kexthelper para instalar o ApplePS2controller.kext que foi alterado no Desktop. Reiniciar o sistema e pronto. O trackpad deve estar a funcionar com Scroll. Se não funcionar, ou se não gostarem do funcionamento, basta usar o Kexthelper para reinstalar o ApplePS2controller.kext original guardado em Documents. |

I know the method jjduro showed again, but I dislike it, because it makes trackpad and mouse share the cursor moving speed. I got my mouse way slower than touchpad, so it's kinda weird to set

Ok men, i really need your help, because i haven't vista anymore, just XP, and because we've got similar HDA cards and we need a key from Vista registry Explorer about PinConfig of ACL660/ACL660vd cards to make these working complete (=SHUTDOWN)
So please, can you search in your registry the key "PinConfigOverrideVerb" and dump results here ???????? Thanks... This will look like that : (ACL268 dump) CODE Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}000\PinConfigOverrideVerbs] "0000"=hex:f0,1c,27,01 "0001"=hex:11,1d,27,01 "0002"=hex:11,1e,27,01 "0003"=hex:41,1f,27,01 "0004"=hex:f0,1c,37,01 "0005"=hex:11,1d,37,01 "0006"=hex:11,1e,37,01 "0007"=hex:41,1f,37,01 "0008"=hex:1f,1c,47,01 "0009"=hex:10,1d,47,01 "0010"=hex:21,1e,47,01 "0011"=hex:02,1f,47,01 "0012"=hex:10,1c,57,01 "0013"=hex:01,1d,57,01 "0014"=hex:13,1e,57,01 "0015"=hex:99,1f,57,01 "0016"=hex:f0,1c,67,01 "0017"=hex:11,1d,67,01 "0018"=hex:11,1e,67,01 "0019"=hex:41,1f,67,01 "0020"=hex:40,1c,87,01 "0021"=hex:98,1d,87,01 "0022"=hex:a1,1e,87,01 "0023"=hex:02,1f,87,01 "0024"=hex:41,1c,97,01 "0025"=hex:09,1d,97,01 "0026"=hex:a3,1e,97,01 "0027"=hex:99,1f,97,01 "0028"=hex:4e,1c,a7,01 "0029"=hex:30,1d,a7,01 "0030"=hex:81,1e,a7,01 "0031"=hex:02,1f,a7,01 "0032"=hex:f0,1c,c7,01 "0033"=hex:11,1d,c7,01 "0034"=hex:11,1e,c7,01 "0035"=hex:41,1f,c7,01 "0036"=hex:2d,1c,d7,01 "0037"=hex:95,1d,d7,01 "0038"=hex:17,1e,d7,01 "0039"=hex:40,1f,d7,01 "0040"=hex:30,1c,e7,01 "0041"=hex:11,1d,e7,01 "0042"=hex:45,1e,e7,01 "0043"=hex:02,1f,e7,01 "NumVerbs"=hex:2c,00,00,00 That key have to be injected in AppleHDAController's plist file, most of us have a ACL268 or ACL880 PinConfig, that make the OS can't shutdown properly the card... |

Oh wow, I have the X2 and I have that exact same card. It rocks. Detected as Airport on Kaly 10.5.2 out of the box. i installed the card. it is detected as airport device but i get nothing - i mean no network connection. the radar icon did appear on the desktop but no quality level present. i didn't get the extra antenna to get the "N" speed so my third (middle port) is unconnected to anything. how do you know which wire goes onto which antenna port? i have black and white antennas. where can i get the driver for this card from. i search everywhere. i am running 10.5.3 kalyway tut126 |

Wiwi, what injector are you using? EFI strings or ALCinject.kext? Now HDAenabler, seems more complete than EFi... SHUTDOWN works randomly in fact, after multiple reboot... But we're close to the solution... Lately i will try to make a clean an updated HDA kext from 10.5.5, but i haven't time today... PinConfig doesn't totaly work for me. undefined you should try to inject you Pin config into the key ConfigData in HDAcontroller's info.plist, like here. |

UPDATED:
I managed to get the Atheros AR5008 PCIe wireless card working! woohoo! I figured out that the black antenna wire goes on port #2 and the white wire goes on port #1. i left the #3 antenna port blank. i guess i could get an antenna wire to have N speed but my router only support B/G speeds. I guess i wasn't patient enough and paniced when the card didn't work. I removed the settings from the network connections and let leopard re-detect the device and then i scanned for available network and then it found my network. i didn't check the speed i was getting..oh well..it was fast anyways.. btw - wife didn't care tut126 |

New version of my kext for non vd ACL660, now mic works.. See here To [always] shutdown it seems that we have to "rewake" our cards:just play with volume controler before shutting down computer... |

Hello everyone!
I had new f3e notebook ,but after bad bios flashing i have nice looking plastic brick Biggest problem is that screen does not turn on and i do not see what really happened. I have desktop pc with Asus mainboard and same type of bios (Amibios8) Amibios have boot block which is not updating by normal flash procedure. I tried how this thing works on my desktop pc. I inserted cd in drive and then turned off pc. Then i pushed power button while holding Ctrl+Home (can be PgUp or PgDown). Bios started EZ-Flash and started searching bios rom image on cd. As the rom image was not there EZ-Flash gave message like "Cannot find BLABLABLA.ROM". Then i knew right file naming and burned cd with newest bios and named it exactly as EZ-Flash asked. Then 20 seconds bios flashing, reboot. All working fine. But with my notebook problem is that i do not see anything. So please can someone give me right bios rom file name ? Thank You! |

ED.LV, not sure if I understood, but wouldn't you find your bios name on Asus' bios downloads page? http://support.asus.com/download/download....SLanguage=en-us
And did you try connecting your desktop monitor to laptop? I'm not sure, but there's a small possibility that it would work. I guess. |

Hi All,
Please can you tell me which is the correct BIOS to upload in my ASUS W7S? Nearest seems to be W3E, but i would be SURE.... Without it, my installation blocks at the boot of Kalyway 10.5.2 on this phrase: DARWIN KERNEL VERSION 9.2.0: (DATE) made by ToH:xnu-1228/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386 i think problem is the BIOS... Thanks |
