Hi, Kabyl
I am looking for a modded BIOS for an Asus X51L laptop. Link to the latest v. 205: http://dlsvr04.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/X51L/X51L205AS.zip (China) http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/X51L/X51L205AS.zip (Global) CPU is Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T2390 : 1.86 GHz, 533MHz, 1MB L2 Cache Chipset is Mobile Intel® GL960 Express Chipset + ICH8M Video is Embedded Intel® GMA X3100 2GB of DDR2 667 MHz RAM The only distribution I can boot is Leo4All v. 3, with cpus=1. All the others I have tested hang at some point with kernel panics in ACPI_SMC module. |

Okay, I don't know if you can do this... I don't know if it's even possible for anyone but the manufacturer to do. The Asus P5N-E SLI motherboard removed AHCI from the bios in an earlier update. It wont let me flash it to a previous version and I really don't want to hunt down my Bios Flasher because it's burried in a box somewhere because I had just moved. Then I'd have to pry it out of my motherboard ect.
Now, my question is... Is there any way you can add back the AHCI function to the bios, assuming I can give you both binaries? Or change the version of the older bios to a newer version? I would crack it open in a hex editor or something but I really REALLY don't wanna find that Bios Flasher, and I trust you more than I trust myself. Anyways, if you're up for the challenge I will post both files: 0401.BIN = old good version 1101.BIN = New Crappy OSX Unfriendly version

I would like to thank you in advance, for the hard work you do for this community, you deserve it.
so, i have for you: * a direct link to the BIOS file, * my PC specs: Asus A7S (the other A7S you have is the A7Sv) (Core2 Duo T7300, Mobile Intel PM965 Express and NVidia 8400m), * and so far I have yet to make it past the kernel panic caused by the ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin module. |

Hi Kabyl, may you please do your magic for me? I'm using an HP530, but there are more models using this BIOS. I uploaded a zip file that only has the BIOS (Mediafire). Alternatively you may download the BIOS + Tool from here. And BTW I could boot sometimes using the 2 cores but it was EXTREMELY unstable and I had KP or reboot after less than a minute.

Ok kabyl did my bios for the Lenovo Y510, everything is working great except that my bios will not accept any wireless mini pci e cards besides the 3945ABG and 4965AGN. I get an error : "Unsupported Wireless Device.. system halted" if i use my dell 1390 or a Atheros AR5BXB6. can kabyl or someone mod it so that it accepts any wireless card =) thanks. [attachment=30833:06CN29WW...by.Kabyl.zip] 06CN29WW is suppose to be very buggy and the issue you are experiencing is related to those bugs. :06CN30WW is the new BIOS file which solves the bug with the wireless card and several others. If someone could mod it that would be great. Thanks.

Hi all, I have made bios modification for notebook MSI GX700 Here is a link: a1719ims.119 modified Enjoy it so, have you tried the bios? does it work? as i wrote earlier, i had to send in my gx700 because of a bad flash. and that was with a regular bios. however, this is of course tempting... i know there are some other guys around here with gx700s, and this may be valualbe information. so do you own a gx700 yourself and have you tried the bios with it? and how did you do the flash? anyway, thanks man! |
