I really think you two should hop in MSN, or AIM, or Gtalk, or IRC, or SOMETHING. I dunno, you are doing excellent work, and keep it up, but the forum just seems to be a slow way to talk. Keep us updated! What are you working on now? How close is it to being done? What's happening? Posts like this are not needed they are just a waste of space and do nothing to help the building of the driver. I know many people really want to see a fix for there HackBooks but please if you feel the need to say "whats happening" "Is it done yet?" DON'T!! Keep it to yourself and check back later to see if any progress has been made. Thank you |

I do anticipate that the same claim could be made for my own post, but this back-and-forth stuff has gone on for too long. For those of you that consider yourselves acquainted enough with the forums to tell other users that their posts are unnecessary, simply do as javaloui himself does and ignore them. You are doubling the clutter in this thread. |

Hi Jalavoui,
Wondering if you could let me know possible causes of kernel panic when calling the iwl_read32 function in OSX 10.5 I am trying to compile the iwl4965 driver for 10.5 using the latest svn trunk source (renamed to old) for 10.4 Started debugging the kernel driver and found it is KP in the driver-start ->pci_probe when making the iwl_read32 call. Can confirm that the priv pointer has a valid memory address allocated prior to this call. Any quick info is appreciated. Thanks. |

it's better to build this on a pc
the iwi2200 for mac os x 10.4 need to be build in 10.4 the iwi2200 for mac os x 10.5 need to be build in 10.5 fisrt you need to delete iwi2200.dmg from the project folder if the build is ok you'll get a new iwi2200.dmg - might need to repeat the build until so (sometimes the script fails) then post the new iwi2200.dmg here for testing |

TWN,
With the new PCI drivers for 10.5.2 my ethernet devices are finally recognised correctly and my Boadcom ethernet device as well as my Intel wireless chip are now 'working' so I can now help test out the driver code. No more "Map is Zero" or kernel panic errors. I tested the Kext twice and it seems it loaded correctly the second time.

Hi Guys,
Im having a slight problem I hope someone can help me out with. Ive installed JaS 10.4.8 on my Dell Inspiron 2200 and need to install my Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 drivers so I can use the net. I've been to the iwidarwin google code website and downloaded the appropriate files and followed the instructions. My problem lies in the 'network selector'. It says it is contained in the *.dmg file that you download off the mainpage, (along with a *.pkg file) for which you are meant to use after you've installed the *.pkg Whenever I open the downloaded *.dmg file, there is no 'network selector' or anything else apart from a single *.pkg file. Im a bit of a noob with macs so I could be missing something really basic here but I'm really not sure and cant find any help for this specific issue. Can someone please shed some light? Is it an application already built in to OS X or something (the F.A.Q says its contained in the *.dmg file and the instructions say to use the 'appriopriate one', so I assumed not) NB - I have the *.pkg file as per the instructions, followed all steps, it logs out and logs back in, nothing changes if i reboot or not. I need the 'network selector' it seems. NBB - I am prepared to ruin my install to get the net working as it will be pointless for me without internet =) Many thanks! |
