It´s fake..... show captures of that or booting logs from the driver. (It is on debug mode so will be easy for you to find on system.log)

That would be awesome! I am sure EVERYBODY would be thankful! Have a merry christmas! biggrin.gif

I know I would be very greatful as it's the only thing stopping me using my OSX install at home. I'm having to leave my Windows HDD in my laptop so I can use the wireless!

Why waste money on a USB wireless adapter, which is awkward sticking out the side or rear of your laptop when you have a perfectly good internal one inside it?

I'm happy to wait for the drivers, but I'm really looking forward to using OSX when I'm at home.

No, the card has to be detected in the host OS (OS X) for it to work in the virtual OS (Windows).

Hi everyone,

I have the 3945abg, also I am a skilled developer. Haven't read all thread (+140 pages). But I'll try to finish the driver after holidays, if it doesn't take me too much time (because I'm working full time as software engineer and studing). But challeges as this one to code at low level always have a magic to attract my attention.

Well, have a mery xmas!!
Good luck! Been waiting for the driver for a long time biggrin.gif

Actually I looked at the code (I can't code, but I was bored) and it seems like the only difference between the 3945 and 4965 drivers are 2 files (1 header file and 1 c file). The two files are only to enable the use of wireless N. Basically, either you could use the 3945 driver with the 4965 card or it would just be a matter of a quick port of the files.

No, the card has to be detected in the host OS (OS X) for it to work in the virtual OS (Windows).

Only USB devices can be passed to the virtual machines so no PCI/PCI-E devices, one user told me wild long ago that PCMCIA could be passed also, but I didn't see any proof of that.

And by the way, the Intel cards are detected by Mac OS, the problem is that it has no drivers, you can check how is detected wih IORegistry or with DPCI Manager.

Is the same thing with the Ralink RT61 cards, they are making only PPC drivers for it, the card is detected by Mac OS but without proper driver it wont work.

It's very strange... can someone, tell me the advantage of using pci-e devices for NETWORKING over USB... because I think that this was an unfortunate decision toward virtualization.... Per example... in my Inspiron 1525 I use a broadcom chip for wireless, a novatel chip for broadband, and a broadcom chip for bluetooth. On VMWare Fusion I can use my mobile broadband and bluetooth directly, without problems; because the mini-cards are handled by the USB bus. Also on real macs the external connectivity is handled by USB bus.. like keyboard/mouse/tracking pad... I think that is was a good choice for their part.
