Heyloo all!
Fairly new to the world of macs, but loving it! Running a Dell D630, and downloaded the latest 3945drivers as neither my LAN or wireless are working in Mac Btw, shouts go out to the devs for their fantastic efforts writing the drivers! |

java,
i can send you a 3945abg card wich came out of a 6710b hp laptop. should work in your hp as well. bought myself a broadcom card from hp part store for 50 euro. have native support on wifi now and this card is in the dust anyways here. so i can send it to you from the netherlands. as for peeps with hp laptops. stuck on a intel card? go to hp part store online and search your laptop and see wich cards can be bought online. for most hp laptops they also sell a whitelisted broadcom 4311 card wich works nativily as an airport. cost 50 euro's. works guaranteed due it's a official hp part. for a 6710b hp laptop it's: partnr: 441075-002 Broadcom 4311AG Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g mini PCI adapter card (Bevo) - 54Mbps data rate, 2.4GHz operating frequency range - For Rest of World (ROW) |

Hey jalavoui, nice work on the iwi2100!!
Any ideas about the iwi2200 on 10.5? Wondering if there are some extra instructions I need to follow to get it to work right (Other than just install the DMG and restart). It's not showing up as an airport device or anything. This is the same system & iwi2200 card that worked on previous builds of iwi2200 for 10.5. Thanks! |

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this. Installed Leopard 1 week ago, then applications, then searched how have my wifi work. No ethernet connexion here, so I can't use svn or other stuff that needs internet under mac. I downloaded iwi3945 file (dmg) from the google code, and use networkselector. I never heard of someone reporting that 3945 worked, but I could detect networks (!!! Was excited then). But association fails, it just brings me back to main menu. Here's the picture : http://c.cool.la.vie.free.fr/LeopardProjec...ctsnetworks.jpg Then, I wondered, a few things : - I don't have a kernel panic, don't know why. I can maybe try your different versions and give you back my logs. Just learned how to get my system.log, ill give it next post here. I have an entire backup of my Leopard partition, so i don't take risks in testing your future versions. - I'm not a mac programmer, but i have good roots. If there are commands that can be done to try associating to networks... It would be good. I couldn't connect either to an "ad-hoc" network (3945LeoTest on picture), either a non-secured (NeufWiFi on picture) network, though close enough. But I can't turn the card on/off, and I don't have access to the "mode" changing option. Maybe it's why I couldn't connect the ad-hoc network... - Is it normal that the card is detected as an ethernet card, or did I miss something in the installation ? I have seen some pictures where the networks (maybe 2200) were detected as AirPort ones. Well... Thank you very much for this developping, tell me if I can help, tell me if I missed something, tell me to shut up if necessary... and have a nice day !! c_cool_la_vie c_cool_la_vie3 (at) yahoo (.) fr www.c-cool-la-vie.com -- And I don't know how to get my version number for iwi3945... I now found how to get the logs and will send them after next vista rebooting. c_cool_la_vie |

Hey folks,
well I'm as close to success as c_cool_la_vie is. Well my 3945abg is set as (en1). Besides that I don't have any news.. I'm able to detect all available wireless networks but fail to connect. I'm gonna try setup logging, etc... So long, Exter |

Jalavoui, Hey man its been awhile sorry haven't been helping much with the iwi2200. Kinda left it in a bad state my fault. What happened is my OS crashed and i got tired of trying to fix it and gave up but am now at the moment reinstalling 10.5.1 on my laptop so should be up in a matter of mins. I'll get back to work on this driver testing it for you and posting stuff. Once again sorry I have been away, school kinda does that to ya but hey i graduate soon so i might be doing this kinda stuff for a living
Let me know what i need to do to get it back up and going again. EDIT: Ok Jalavoui got a problem, got it installed and it booted up fine into 10.5. Problem is its not connecting to anything like it keeps saying getting ip address... and then shows a list of the wireless routers around me. None connect when they should. What could be up? What do you need to work on it? This was with the stable drivers rev1195. Should i use the latest? |

I was looking through the BSD and Linux driver development. They modify the firmware on the Intel 3945. Jalavoui, is the plan for the drivers to just keep the original Intel firmware? hello, I recently meet to this forum, I have an acer asprire 5920g with an Intel Core 2 Duo T7500. I had installed Leopard 10.5.2 and I tried to found the drivers for my wlan card but I had real all the posts, tried some of the developed drivers and I had only panic kernels. I know that macintosh is based in Unix and Linux is based or its similar to unix too, so... why don't try to get the linux driver for iwi3945 from intel and readapt it to mac Os X Leopard? maybe you had tried this before but as I'm newer, I don't know. thanks in advance for all your previous work!!! Thankyou for try to help all the people that have iwi3945. Pepeluisito. I found this adress: http://ipw3945.sourceforge.net good luck |

I believe this is what he's doing as far as taking the linux driver and modifying it to work with Mac. Now i know for sure he used it fro the iwi2200 one. Could be wrong about that with the ipw3945 driver. Anyways be patient he will have it done when its done.

Im not a developer, but the driver will be ready as soon as someone donates a card for them to work with, and, as far as i know, this is in process. They are working hard and are doing a great job. I would say it would be ready SOON, but not like tommorow soon.
Wait patiently and soon enough you'll be surfing wirelessly. Also, In the first stages of the driver development, it seems that WEP/WPA encrypted networks are not supported, but may be included at a later date. Hagie92 |
