iwi3945/4965 driver status

- the driver scans and find networks using networkselector.app
- repeating the scan can show more networks
- associate to unsecure networks doesn't work
- the driver can get errors at startup (timeouts, fw errors, etc) that prevent it from working. the solution is a few reboots

at this point there's no reason to write more code. i'll finish the driver when i have the hardware
if this is not possible i hope someone else finish this project

hi have intel 4965g i tried to install driver but no new network devices showed up. I opened network selector it said

Could not get ID for kernel control. 2

Did you download it for the correct card?

It's as simple as can be... Download the DMG install the package
Reboot
Start Networkselector
If you get this error the driver is not loaded,
so you downloaded the wrong driver or you downloaded an old version.

And a NetworkCard 2 and 3 ...

I agree. I think it would be better to leave the thread open so that other potential devs have somewhere to post code updates during the time in which the project would otherwise be stalled. When Jalavoui gets the hardware for himself he could always have the mods close this thread so that he can start a fresh one if he wanted.

I didn't have much free time at all last week, and couldn't keep up with the pace of the code changes because of it, but I'll have much more for the next few weeks. Tomorrow I will work on the 3945 drivers, and post code changesif I make any progress.

I've installed the new iwi3945.kext date 10 june 2008 and no kernel panic, so far so good.
But when I start networkselector and type 1, it jumps back to the beginning Welcome to the....
What is wrong?

same here, i'm also trying to make progress. At least we know what the status of the driver is, it's a matter of time now.
