ok - this will work better
goto iwidarwin and download the dmg - click on the svn link
install and test
the networkselector.app is in folder Applications
before i post a rel number here i always update the svn tree with code and with the .dmg installer
the installer removes previous versions before update...

if you select a network with option 3) and them request a scan the driver scans the current net
there are several ways to test this code:
- do a few scans
- do a few associate attempts
- mix both
run a few tests and post some comments
i don't have the card - don't know how to test it
if you get timeout errors reboot
i guess this code needs some changes to work ok
you might get lucky and make the driver randomly associate to a network
if you have iwi4965 you can try to associate to a N-band network - this code was fixed
i need a developer with the card to finish this

Does the driver still get KP? If not, someone could give VNC access to j. I can't, I dont have the card either.

There are no KPs yet. I ve done a few scans and a few attempts to attach. I could not figure from the logs what networks it found and what the numbers are associated with those networks. But I randomly tried to attach to 1, 2, 3, 4 .. did not know what to expect after I tried to attach to network (option 3 in network selector). I believe someone already offered this, but I can definitely give VNC access to J.

to finish the driver i'll have to test code related with ieee80211_authenticate and outputpacket
this code gives kernel panics - no way to use vnc to connect to another computer

try this - fix for scan reinit

Sorry for the lame question, I'm new in the hole OSX86… I have dell e1505 with 3495ABG. I tried to install the driver but even after the REBOOT I haven't any new network driver and the network selector doesn't even let me the selection menu.
I'm using kalyway 10.5.2.
Can some help me and tell me what am I'm doing wrong?
10x

It's a new installion. I installed the Kalyway and than the driver? do I need to install something else first?

OK, iwi4965 rev 1170 logs, no KP this time, everything boots and runs fine. Kernel doesnt recognize new ethernet device, but iwi4965 starts scanning and does recognize my network, the only one in range. It will not let me connect, i dont think, i have no way of telling, This is only a small section of the logs. The whole thing is 10+ MB. It seems to be stuck in an infinite loop scanning, so the logs just repeating. Cut it down for size issues. Thanks for the great work J. Look forward to next rev.

First, logs from 4965 r1170. Second, logs i did yesterday with r1160 which show really odd activity.. i'm still seeing this sometimes, looking for info so i can work out a fix and contribute.

I'm still getting the issue with networkSelector not seeing the card, but i don't have the osx experience to properly troubleshoot it myself.

I do have some Unix/linux ability, and can code a bit.. please direct me jalavoui wink.gif
