Computer Type: PC - Asus P5-G33 - ICH9
Sound Card Vendor: Realtek
Sound Card Model: ALC883
Vendor Id: 0x10ec0883

Working: Nothing
Not Working: Everything

Patcher Version used: 1.17, 1.18, 1.19, 1.20
System Version: Leopard 10.5.1

obs: I can't get the patcher to do anything. It worked fine in Tiger, but in Leopard it just sits there when I place a dump on top of it. No output at all - like it isn't running at all. Is this a permissions problem or something? I've tried loads of different HDA patchers and about 4 different dumps downloaded from here, plus of course my own one (attached).

Any help would be most appreciated.

Taruga: Try the attached installer (ALC883Installer) . Good luck

Hi Taruga - Thanks for the installer. Worked perfectly. Have sound again - yay! Mic appears to be going too. Thanks for all your hard work.

Hi,

Computer Type: PC / Intel D101GGCL
Sound Card Vendor: Realtek
Sound Card Model: ALC861
Vendor ID: 0x10ec0861
Device ID: 0x437B1002

Working: All Working (Just the crackles and rare sounds at startup but it isn't important).
Not Working: None

Patcher Version: None / ALC861.zip
System Version: Tiger 10.4.10 / Kernel 8.10.1

Observations: Hi Taruga, i just replace a little thing into the into the AppleHDA.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleHDAController.kext/Contents/Info.plist the A for the B. (i mean Device ID: 0x437A1002 for Device ID: 0x437B1002). And now it's working. I post this edited file on my topic about D101GGCL giving the credits to you. You can download and check this correction on that file. Follow this link.

Good Luck! and Thanks A Lot!

PD: If i have to remove the file because i'm violating some rule or your copyright please tell me and will remove it. Sorry if i'm doing wrong. You are the man.

Computer Type: Laptop (ASUS F3JC)
Sound Card Vendor: Realtek
Sound Card Model: ALC861 (seen as ALC660 under Linux)
Vendor Id: 0x10ec0861

Working: Line out (internal speakers + headphone), Mic (jack only), possibly SPDIF out
Not Working: Mic (integrated), Headphone volume (low)

Patcher Version used: none - ALC861.zip
System Version: Leopard 10.5.1

Obs:
First, THANKS A LOT !!! finally got sound working, and mute works too. I can't test SPDIF out. Integrated microphone doesn't work but nevermind, it's not very good anyway.

Most "annoying" thing is the headphones: when plugging jack in/out, external speakers mute/unmute appropriately, but headphone volume is extremely LOW. Even when putting the volume to the maximum, sound can hardly be heard (but there IS sound).
The only workaround I found to use headphones is to connect external speakers (that include an amplifier) to the laptop's Line Out, then connect headphones to these speakers. But it's only possible at home, obviously smile.gif.

In case it could help you solve this problem, I attached the Linux codec dump. Thanks again for your great work!

Reason for edit: Thanx for the report. I though headphones was not working, but according to your report it´s just a low volume issue. I will take a look at it when possible.

After I patched the appleHda.kext, none of the mic or speaker word. When i open the info file in the kext, there isn't any number at the nodeid position. So I edited the info file in the kext, for the mic the nodeids are 9,34,24. the speaker nodeids are 2,12,20. after i reboot, the mic works very well. I tryed it. But, whatever i change the speaker's paramiter, it doesn't give any sound. so please help. When i use ubuntu 7.10, it has sound.here is the dump file from ubuntu.

Not Working: everything else, but I can see all input/output panels, can move volume slider too,

Patcher Version used: from 1.13 to 1.20
System Version: Leo 10.5.1 Kalyway

obs: Tryed many patchers, no one give me Audio icon, Only AppleAzalia give me it, but no sound coming out (headphones too).
Later, I found this kext for alc660 (posted below) these are the only one that gives me full panels, I can see all input and output, but still no sound. Only Mic jack is working.
I uploaded my codec dump too, I believe that it's only a problem of node id, pathmap.. Hoping and crossing everything smile.gif

dell inspiron 6400 sigmatel stac92XX
OS: iATKOS Leopard

Patch:1.14 with Stac9200.txt
Results: Works Excellent

I tried the patches which suppose to be for leopard but only 1.20 worked, but that was creating kernel panics when shutting down, so i had to shut down manually, since i tried the 1.14 patcher, my dellintosh works perfect except that I can only boot with one core. thumbsup_anim.gif thumbsup_anim.gif thumbsup_anim.gif

anyone can try the files i used HERE

thanks taruga

Computer Type : PC
SoundCard Vendor: Realtek
Sound Card Model : ALC662 Rev 1 (Based on Ubuntu 7.10 codec dump)
Vendor ID: 0x10ec0662
Subsystem id: 0x10438290
Working : Output (Line Out n Digital Out), Input (mic and Line in)
Not working : Front Panel ports (Line out and Mic in)

Patched version used: 1.20
System version : Tiger 10.4.10

i haven't tested the mic though. but it's definitely better than only having output w/ azalia biggrin.gif
i've tried using 1.16 but not compatible w/ this codec.Surprisingly, i'm using m/b Asus P5GC-MX and suppose to have Realtek ALC883 but Ubuntu 7.10 codec dump says it's ALC662.
but i'm happy with the results.

Thanks a lot for all the effort you put into this project Taruga.

previous post is on my sis pc.

Patcher Version used: 1.17 ~ 1.20
System Version: Leopard 10.5.1 (10.5 ToH + EFIv8 + Update to 10.5.1)

obs: help please.

drag dump file to AppleHDAPatcher, password prompt, then only 'quit' button flash.

The file attached get from knoppix linux.

GOOD NEWS
After change some bios setting, HDAudio.kext detects the codec chip, and alc262testing.zip is working with Int Speakout and Ext Mic In. Hope Int Mic In could be useful. the Ext speakout not test. Thanks to Taruga!
also, AppleHDAPatcher still not working for my laptop.
