IF YOU ARE STUCK

1. At blue screen with brazilmac PC_EFI method by onetrack HERE:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...200#entry523666

2. Or stuck at apple logo with spinning SPOD with ToH x86 9A581 RC2 DVD

PLEASE SEE my solution below.

Followed this thread exactly with minor changes:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...300#entry524902

I got pc_efi ver 6.0 because I could not find 5.2 and 7.2 had all these references to guid and I was not sure if I could use it with MBR. Google pc_efi or go to netkas site to get it. If someone could clear up my question about using pc_efi 7.2 instead of 6.0 I would like to know?

From here I grabed paulicats x3100 Natit.kext file the last one he listed in thread:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/i...php/t70282.html

Replace references to NVinject.kext with Paulicats Natit.kext file.

Drop it in /System/Library/Extensions & chown/chmod Natit.kext like you would NVInject.kext

Then DELETE (rm -rf AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext) like Azurael says.

Repair permissions like the guide says. Also do a disc check. Well I did this to be safe.

Now reboot and Leopard WILL FINALLY RUN for you x3100 users like me.

Orginally what I did that did not work:

1. I followed the instructions exactly from Onetrack on my hackintosh (specs below). Same with ToH DVD.

2. Tripple checked media. I made 3 discs all produce the same results and were verified with imageburn and Nero and roxio. Actually 2 of them are different releases Brazilmac and ToH so bad media is unlikely at this point.

My problem is i get to either the blue screen or the apple logo with spinning SPOD and no HD movement after about 10mins. The blue screen happens right at first gui bootup. Nothing is on screen to show what the freeze is comming from. Same with Grey Apple logo screen. If I wait on the blue screen freeze my laptop will sit at the blue screen for a lil over 10mins or so and then the monitor turns off and the lights just sit and blink (interesting).

I have googled this problem and someone on a macbook has close to the same issue. Located here: http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:IpNSE...;cd=1&gl=us

Onetrack had actually replied to this thread and provided the answer to this problem I was going to try this fix on my hackintosh but when I try to login as single user mode with the blue screen freeze I cant type for some reason its like the keyboard is locked out. However on the grey apple logo install issue I can get to single user mode. I tried this fix for the heck of it and it ended up killing the install with the "can't find com.apple.Boot" error

I can not find any other info on this problem. I also think it might have something to do with wireless. I have a Broadcom BCM 4311 chip and the strange thing is while booting leopard whenever it freezes the light on my laptop for wireless turns purple. Blue or orange are the two normal colors. One of the times in verbose mode it did freeze exatly on loading broadcom BCM 4311. I think the driver tries to load for wireless and it freeses. If this is the case. How on earth can I fix that?

I've tried -v (verbose) -x (safemode) -s (singleuser) platform=APCI & Platform=X86PC at bootup and none of those have helped.

So can anyone here help me? Onetrack? THANK YOU ALL See specs below.

Complete C712NR Specs:

Display: 15.4″ WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)

Chipset: Santa Rosa platform intel 965 x3100 Graphics

Memory: 1GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)

Hard Drive: 80GB 5400RPM SATA

Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 *Should be no problem

Wireless: 802.11b/g WLAN *Its a Broadcom bcm4311

Optical Drive: SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support *Optiarc burner

Alps pointing device works fine

Ports: 3x USB 2.0, VGA, mic-in, headphone-out, S-Video, LAN, modem

Bios is limited. Very few options if any, besides legacy mode for SATA. Turning that on makes little or no difference to leopard. Seems to boot slower is all.

Display:

Resolution: 1280 x 800

Depth: 32-bit Color

Built-In: Yes

Core Image: Hardware Accelerated

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Quartz Extreme: Supported

Just figured out what QE/CI was and my x3100 does support it. So NOPE its not VESA.

Now if I could get my keyboard & trackpad to work I'll have a completely working mac pro. Anyone have any pointers for me. I have my drivers and they work under Tiger but cants get them to work under Leopard.
