How to make Adium show up only in the menubar?

I was wondering if it is at all possible to make an application that has a menubar function, specifically Adium or maybe Azureus, show up only in the menubar and not in the dock?

You could try out Dockless - I think that might do what you're asking, or alternatively you could edit the apps info.plist and add the line:
CODE
<key>LSUIElement</key>
<string>1</string>
