hey i installed xp into one partition, left one about 16 gigs for osx, and another for stuff.. i installed osx86 on the 2nd one using the tutorial from wiki.osx86... but then i managed to mess it all and i couldnt boot to any OS.. only PXE booting stuff started.
Now i reinstalled xp to the first partition again and i still have the osx86 installation and the third partition. can i add osx86 to my boot menu, or create one somehow? how? or it isnt possible to use the osx86 installation anymore? by the way its the 10.4.1 installation, and i tested it.. worked fine. |

I would try installing the Acronis bootloader. It worked flawlessly in my system with OSX and WinXP.
BTW, maybe this is a good time to reinstall a newer OSX version. 10.4.1 is VERY outdated. hecker |

Maybe the Chain0 method?
I use the darwinbootloader, don't know if it's on the 10.4.1 disc... |

1. Use MAC OS X DVD to set 1 HFS+ partition (1st partition) and 1 DOS partition (2nd partition)
2. Quit MAC OS X installation 3. Boot from CD-ROM and install XP to 2nd partition and make it NTFS if you like 4. Install MAC OS X to 1st partition 5.1. If MAC OS X reboot OK, add below key to Boot.plist to show up Darwin bootloader at power on <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> 5.2. If reboot show HFS+ error -a. Boot from MAC OS X DVD -b. Open Terminal from TOOL -c. Tpye below commands: fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 1 update write quite Then close Terminal and exit installation to reboot. This shall let you boot into MAC OS X to set up account. After boot successfully, do step 5.1. At power on, hit any key to show up Darwin bootloader and select OS you want to boot. If no key entered within 5 seconds, it boot into MAC OS X by default. Bruce |
